  1. Avatar 3/10 Pretty bad movie. It's poorly acted, and terribly written. The special effects look ok, but for a movie with so much potential for good use of special effects, the movie fails pretty badly. The action is just terrible and it's a real shame, because it seemed like it had the potential to be really good. It's good for kids and children might enjoy it, but other than that, it's just plain awful.
  2. I've heard good things about it. But I hear the Boston Bruins do a terrible job in it.
  3. Little miss Sunshine: 8/10. I enjoyed this movie a great deal, though I wouldn't be surprised to read/hear that others found it terrible. It's funny in a not so obvious kind of way, and there are few laugh out loud moments. The cast in this movie is incredible by the way, and I loved the acting. It also has a decent story. I'd recommend it to everyone simply because if it's your type of movie, and you can find the subtle humor in it, then you'll enjoy this movie a great deal. If this isn't your type of movie, you probably won't enjoy it at all, but I think it's worth it to go out of your way to find out.
  4. The Usual Suspects 8/10 I like this movie, but it's really overrated. There is really nothing special about it. Everytime I see this movie on t.v, I watch it, because it is a good movie, but it certainly wasn't the movie I was expecting to see after hearing all the hype. Predictable, really kind of silly, no real action, no real humor and no acting standouts at all. I hear people speak of Kevin Spacey's performance as if he should've won every Oscar awarded that year, but I wasn't that impressed. The writing was ok though, but even that has its problems, as I also hear shouts of plagerism and taking lines straight out of other movies, though I haven't really looked into it. It's not as bad as I make it out to be, but I'm just astonished about how much hype there is about this average movie, almost as astonished about how dissapointed I was with Avatar, the most successful movie with no substance. I used to like the show, until it turned its focus from Supernatural to Superreligious. Even the earlier shows have been spoiled for me, as they spelled out the metaphor for the whole show from the very beginning as Lucifer/Michael and their relationship with God, and how it parallels Sam/Dean and the relationship with their father. I didn't even mind the religious garbage really, as the whole angels and demons thing can be pulled off really well if done right. But things got really weird once they started mentioning the whole "I am Lucifer's vessel" crap. Actually, thinking back now, the whole "Sam needs demon blood" storyline was pretty bad too. I really hope they put that show out of its misery.
  5. Mystic River 8/10 Extremely good acting, and a decent story. I would recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it. It's a good movie, it's just a shame that it seems to decrease in quality as the movie goes on, in terms of realism, writing, story flow, and acting (just a bit though) as the movie's focus goes from an emotional and very believable Sean Penn and shifts to a fairly average acting job by Kevin Bacon. So, go see it, and watch for the amazing acting job by Tim Robbins, who does all the little things in his performance to make it the stand out performance of the movie, which says a lot when you see just how good a job Sean Penn does.
  6. The Green Mile 9/10 Good movie, in any way you can name. It's a little long though.
  7. I'll admit it, I knew that scene was coming, so I looked away, and didn't look back until I knew for sure that the scene was over. That has got to be one of the most brutal scenes I've even heard of. Although the scene in the supermarket was pretty brutal too. Edge of Darkness? Glad to hear someone enjoyed it. It looked to me like a stereotypical "I'm a cop who isn't holding back" movie.
  8. American History X 9.7/10 Very good movie. If you haven't seen it, you definetely should, although I should warn you guys that it can be pretty brutal and intense. But otherwise, it's an excellent movie.
  9. K-os: I wish I knew Natalie Portman Good song, one of my favorites.
  10. Edited for content.... Edited once again for content...
  11. 1) 30 to 35 goals? Hm. I guess I can see why people would think that initially, but to expect that at this point would be almost ridiculous. Almost. He has shown he has a bit of a scoring touch, and he plays a physical game, but I don't think he's ging to be that power forward everyone thought he'd be, scoring all the dirty goals. Although at the moment, he looks like he's going to develop into a quality third liner, I can't claim to know what'll come in his career. 2)Very true. At the start of last season, when he played with Saku, I saw some very good signs of a good player. I was looking forward to his season. Unfortunately, despite all the injuries we had, he wasn't really a factor for the rest of the season. 3) There isn't a bigger sign of this being true than Moen going on the top line instead of Gui. Refering to the season start I mentioned earlier, he has shown signs that he can perform on the top line. The possibility of him being an effective tough player on the top line has been done before, so when I saw Moen get time on the top minutes instead of Gui, I knew that unless injuries come to our wingers, he's likely to stay on the third line the rest of the season.
  12. 1) 2) I suppose, though he seems to be performing well in the role he was given, when compared to how the whole team is doing. His offensive production isn't amazing, but he's shown he can score. My main worry coming into the season was if he is put on the checking line, can he play decently defensively, and play a good physical game. If he isn't on the top two lines, I won't worry too much about his poor scoring, although 1 in 7 isn't good enough. 3) Why do you say that? Any news I'm missing? 4) Any sources comparing him to Lecs? At all? They play two different styles, he certainly won't be Vinny in term of production, and I don't think ANYONE expects him to be a superstar. 5) Of course he'll have an impact. Every player does. I think you should lower your expectations in terms of what that impact is.
  13. Seems like an ok pickup, but his vlaue comes at the price he signed for. I hope he has a good year. Welcome aboard MAB!
  14. He looked really happy when he scored, and I'm really happy for him. I hope he keeps it up and has a good season.
  15. Well, I am no longer on the side of the argument that argues that we should have a young player like Chips in his place. He did a really good job tonight, and I hope the Metro keeps it up.
  16. 1)Ya, it's very hard to convey my sense of humor and my jokes online, but I was joking...as well as trying to fool you into thinking you had won!!!! *Maniacal laughter* 2) I'm winning now!!! *Maniacal laughter again!*
  17. Mike Cammalleri, Andrei Markov or Scott Gomez. These are solid players, and where Markov is a leader on the ice, I think we should show one of our new aquisitions that they are not just assets aquired in the off season, but players we plan to keep in our organization for the duration of their contract+, and by giving them the C or an A would be the perfect way to show this.
  18. Once again, thank you. It's better than I expected.
  19. OMG, that's perfect. The only problem is that it says Kanudiggit on it. If you could put Lynch on there, I'd be glad to put a "thank you to Kaundiggit for the amazing sig" at the bottom. Thanks again, that's stunning.
