Those rumours have been floating around for quite awhile now. I remember reading something last year about another brewery ( Budweiser) being in the hunt. Molson as an owner has done very little with this franchise since taking over. He's been more concerned about offending the French media and politicians rather then getting down to the issue of building  a contender. It's a tightrope he's chosen to walk and IMO a policy that's failed him miserably. If it materializes, i would hope new owners take a different approach. Willing to bet that the biggest majority of Hab fans in Quebec would chose winning over language any day of the week.

It's an investment. He bought the team, it makes money, one day he'll sell it for more than he bought it for. However, I see no reason why he would offload it now.

It would be nice to still have JK mind you there's nothing guaranteed there either - he's at 3 points in his first 11 games as a cane, on their stacked team.

I dont think Dvorak, Evans or Poehling are the answers but maybe we'll make a trade or a guy like Mysak or Kidney will make some huge jump...

....that said, if we manage to get 1st overall and draft Shayne Wright, look out.

    :4845:Fingers crossed!

Hopefully we can get the number 1 overall pick!

And he wasn’t even the player MB really wanted in the trade ( so they say. )

C'est possible. I assume most trades kind of go down in that manner, though.

    "Can I have player A?"
"What can I have if I trade you player B?"
"You can have a draft pick and one of player C, D, or E."
    "Okay, gimme player  D."

I agree and certainly hope it's with the Habs,  I'm sure he will learn his lesson from his punishment and turn out to be an excellent player.  He certainly has the size and talent

Not a fan of the Mailloux pick, but he's part of the organization now. Hopefully he learns from his mistake, continues to grow as a young man, and becomes a person and player Montreal can be proud of.

  5. I would definitely blow it up. I've been hoping Bergevin would be fired for years and we could have a GM come in with the mandate to blow it up and rebuild... Not this "retooling" that Bergevin talks about. We need to draft and develop top-end talent. I would argue that we haven't been able to add any superstar additions at forward or defense at all during Bergevin's tenure. Price had an amazing four years with us from 2013-2017, but he cannot be expected to carry the team anymore. We need to rebuild. I am fine with spending 3-4 years being terrible if it means drafting and developing well. Looking to 2025-2026 to turn the corner.

At least he's honest not like some superstar QB in Green bay

Yeah, jeez... As a massive GB fan, Aaron Rodgers behavior has been atrocious. Immunized. What a dummy.

Happy Carey was able to get assistance with his mental health and substance issues. Hopefully the player assistance program will have provided him the tools to better deal with those issues moving forward. Mental health and substance abuse isn't a quick-fix situation, and I am sure Carey will have to work on it for many, many years. Here's to hoping he does so effectively and that he has a happy life with his family!

Frustrations continue as the Rocket drop fourth straight .

He went from one losing team to another ....lol

I mean, we've been largely an organization of failure for the past several years.

    2020-21 - Lost in Finals
    2019-20 - Lost in first-round
    2018-19 - DNQ
    2017-18 - DNQ
    2016-17 - Lost in first-round
    2015-16 - DNQ

The Laval Rocket have done nothing since moving to Laval. With the exception of last season.

After that slow start, now (after first period of game 13) just below a PPG.

Unfortunately for a team who's strength is supposed to be its depth, it seems the team is unable to score unless he's on the ice (I think it's been like 4 games or something since a goal without Suzuki having a goal or assist).

Overall feeling great about that extension though.

Yeah, he is back on track after the slow start. Gonna be a good player for us for many years!

Yeah, impossible to know. If i had to guess if the team had a number in mind Id imagine 4-6 games.  If he dominates right away then i could see them calling him up asap.  If he falters though, I could see that number stretching to 10 or more games.   If he was to develop chemistry with guys like Poehling & Ylonen you could conceivably be building a future NHL line there too so they may want to keep him down a little longer just to develop some chemistry there.

I could also see him being left in Laval for an extended period of time. Just seeing what develops out of working with Poehling and Ylonen.

You can forgive MB the loses of Price, Edmundson, Byron and Drouin.  But the rest of the holes in the roster?  We had literally the entire off season to try to replace Weber.  The answers were Savard and Wideman (and then a last minute hail mary with a Niku signing)   We lost Danault & were going into the season thin, replaced by whom? Poehling? Then JK signs the OS - which i grant you was not expected, I think MB would have matched all the way up to say, $4 - but at that point we were already down a centre.  We need to keep JK AND add Dvorak, not one or the other.

    Its just complete mismanagement.

As many of us have said before, we have 1 guy who is more than a #4-6 dman. That is unacceptable.  And today, Norlinder was sent to Laval for conditioning. He cant play in Laval, so this implies we are planning on giving him some NHL games.  Arguably our best defensive prospect and we want to bring him into this tire-fire of a season?

I hope they do bring in Norlinder to play some games. Not expecting him to save the season, but maybe it's meaningful for his development!

And if Romanov looks lost... Well, I am fine with him continuing to play as well. So often it feels like we favor has-been veterans instead of our young D. Might as well start giving them experience in the NHL, even if we do tank the season. Maybe they grow and succeed from the adversity.

Is primeau even ready to Play in the nhl . Even

as a back up . Will he ever be an NHL goalie or is it just our hopes that he s the next great goalie

I think we would have be fine with Primeau or McNiven backing up Allen during Price's absence. There was no reason for us to pickup Montembault. Once Price returns, now we have to stick Montembault somewhere... I am guessing McNiven will get the short end of the stick. Why? He's always been the goaltender in our system who bounces around. Especially during the Lindgren years. With that said, I don't really see McNiven or Primeau as the future of our team, so... I guess it doesn't really matter.
