  1. Luck is also a matter of statistics. Luck is a matter of justice :-). Sometimes you are lucky that a ref calls something in your favor and vice-versa. Sometimes you score from the neutral zone on an unprepared goalie (Max Pac :-)) If you take eg. 20 games and your team is long-term average, you will get results more or less like this: 8 reg. wins, 2 after reg. wins, 2 after reg. losses, 8 reg. losses. But: out of those 10 wins, 2-3 might be lucky wins, with a high "coincidence factor". But the same goes the other way. THAT is the reason why the seasons in collective sports are so long and embrace so many matches with various opponents. 82 games, 15 of which might end up by something "lucky". The rest is pure statistics: shots for, shots against, penalty minutes, special teams etc. Then you have to think of hot and cold streaks and injuries. Injuries are the worst, because hot and cold streaks somehow level out throughout the season. And if not during one season, then more seasons :-) The more long-term you take into account, the better statistical relation. That is how I see it. The reason, why we win is how we play, you cannot win 16 out of 25 on a fluke. Does it make sense?
  2. Thank you, Milan and Zdeno. Without your effort the win for the Habs might have been much tougher. 3rd line Prust against 1st line Lucic and Emelin against Chara: very favorable deals in terms of ´Ruins losing key players in stupid fights :-) I think Emelin fouled and should have been called for 2 minutes. But refs did not blow the whistle and Zdeno "the Avenger" Chara gave us a 17 minutes "Charafree" defense to face :-) GJ on offense guys. Great saves, Peto ;-)
  3. I gladly watched the Habs´ games in the afternoons (thats 7, 8 or 9 pm here). One of the local sports channels regularly takes American broadcasting. For me, it does not pay off to buy the CenterIce, since the Habs´ games are usually played at 1 or 2 am my local time :-) There is one more choice, which is strongly prohibited in this thread
  4. And what about Karlsson - Cooke case? I saw the video, I think he must have known what was about to happen. Sweep it under the carpet? Solve i with a fee and a small suspension? Or finally go for a real punishment: suspension until Eric returns 100% fit? Could take 4-18 months. As far as Achilles tendon injuries go, he may never return... what a pity what a loss for hockey I d ont like Karlsson against the Habs, but when I see him on the ice smell danger... he is really good, probably the best offensive D in he world... Cooke to the gallows?
  5. The energy, performance and effort of Brendan and Alex Gallys
  6. Tyorke, I am with you. But bullying should go... It is written in another thread: punish serious fouls, do not let the monkeys in (yes, Grabovsky, mokeys bite each other!), and no fights = bullying is over. I would really wonder how Boston or Toronto would perform with constantly 3 or 4 players under suspension against the agile Habs who play with finesse. Not gonna see it though... :-/ I discussed it with some people today, and well, I have been a long term fan of the Habs, but the most beautiful hockey with passes, combinations and creativity is currently being played in the KHL. Minimum fights, no goalie pushing, really nice for the eye to see. Officiating is also a problem but the inconstistency of NHL refs is highly and negatively surprising for me... You should have seen Malkin, Kovalchuk and many others creating the beauty of the game in the wider rink. NHL is faster and more aggressive, but overly aggressive :-(
  7. I hope he will prove to be a good backup goalie. Against the Sens it was far from brilliant, I wish him good luck, firm ground and quick limbs. Go Habs Go
