  1. That or put him back on waivers.
  2. Don't forget we have Hoffman coming back soon
  3. I would have been more shocked if Ylonen cracked this lineup. I just don't see what others do with this kid. He really doesn't look NHL ready to me. Gulhe looks like he could step into the NHL but he hasn't shown enough to be anywhere near ready for a top 4 role IMO.
  4. That's obviously a very old stat. In his first 5 years alone the team would have played over 400 games at 82 a season
  5. Maybe so, but isn't the GM responsible for hiring and firing? Doesn't he get the blame for putting together the staff responsible for drafting and player development? I think this is one of the areas where he's failed as a GM personally (among others). I won't lose any sleep over his walking away, but i do worry about the replacement, same as Ted. I view it as a chance to improve, if Molson takes it seriously. His not having a deal in place with MB by now leads me to think that he has another plan in the works. Let's hope it's a winning one.
  6. That would be my biggest fear too. Allen is a good goalie but i see him more as a supporting starter rather then the main guy. The D in front of him i suspect will struggle, leading to tons of shots, so i see a heavy workload. We start with a B2B right off the bat and i would hope he doesn't get both starts.
  7. The guy made some nice saves but he certainly doesn't look like a guy that will steal you any games. Maybe there's another level to his game we're not aware of but i don't see him as anything other then a 3rd string guy. Primeau needs a stretch of NHL games to see what he's all about and this may be the ideal situation to get that assessment of him.
  8. From the little i've seen,,, nobody has looked great other then Allen when he played a half game. Primeau looked all right the last time i saw him but he had one shaky game too.
  9. Our last meaningless game before our B2B home openers for Leafs and Sabres. The situation has changed with the Price news. I know Allen will likely get the start but i would really like to see one more game out of Primeau. Not crazy about the waiver pick up guy with his NHL stats. Time to give the kid a bit of NHL experience IMO.
  10. On her personal site,,, his wife is hinting strongly that it's a mental issue.
  11. With the defence MB has iced for this team this year,,,, 30 days could seem like an eternity. This division is already going to be the toughest to come out of. Without a healthy and on his game Price, we could be talking lottery pick by Christmas.
  12. With Price out for the foreseeable future i think it's time to reconsider who gets the backup job behind Allen. Personally i would go with Primeau at this time. This is an ideal situation for him to get some NHL experience and to see if he's actually a true big league goalie.
  13. Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin said Price will miss a minimum of 30 days, adding he was confident the 34-year-old would return this season. “I didn’t see it coming,” Bergevin said of learning Price would be taking a leave from the team. “It caught me off guard.”
  14. Really hope it's a short term situation for Price. Hard to picture a guy like him dealing with anxiety issues as he seems so well grounded all the time. On the hockey side of things,,,,, this is really beginning to look like a wash for this season.
  15. Watched a bit of that game but this analysis says it all,,, The Leafs were curiously matching lines to ensure that stars like John Tavares, William Nylander, and Mitch Marner played against AHL players like Alex Belzile, Michael Pezzetta, and Raphael Harvey-Pinard. It definitely worked, but seems an odd strategy to prepare elite players by
  16. May have to watch a period of this game just to see what MB sees in this guy.
  17. You guys are getting better and better at self moderating. Who the hell needs us? I know kinot will be the first to agree. For the record, lines did get blurred a bit with the Archibald reference. Pretty easy to do. Thanks for taking this back on topic.
  18. That's why there was no duplicate thread this time around.

  21. We seem to be a better team at home then on the road so far. Quite the opposite of last year. Just about seen my full of this one. Check in later.
  22. Well,,,, that's about all i can stomach. Wanted to see what Niku was all about but that's out the door.
