In the case of head coach Dominique Ducharme, who replaced Claude Julien mid-season in 2020-21 and signed a three-year deal after coaching the team to the Finals, his job is not in danger according to Bergevin.

“Not at this point, but again, if you look at a few months ago, Dom took pretty much the same team to the Stanley Cup Final and he didn’t become a bad coach in three months,’’ Bergevin said. “It’s not only one person. It’s not only one issue.’’

How exactly is this the same team that made it to the Cup finals, Marc? You mean the same team minus Price, Weber, Edmundson, Danault, Byron, Kotkaniemi, Perry, Tatar, and Staal? I see

Maybe Molson has asked him to hold off because he wants his NEW GM to pick a new coach. We can only hope.

  2. I was all for trading Gally a couple years ago. His style of play is not the style that leads to long prosperous NHL careers. We're really seeing the long term effect of being beaten down on a regular basis. Love the guy, but that extension was just another example of what's wrong with this GM. At least he didn't bite on the Dano extension.

  3. I don't think there are any saviours out there ready to step in and save this season, but for the sake of my personal sanity there needs to be heads rolling tonight. What is the holdup? This team has quit on the coach ( and he probably deserves it) and there isn't a red suit out there (including Santa's) that should save MB from the same fate.

  4. I get the guy is proud of his heritage, but to tie that into a professional sports team is a bit of a stretch to me. Where was this guy when the Expos were in town? Is he just as vocal about the Alouettes of the CFL? If a French player can make this team on talent, then all the power to him, but it shouldn't be a pre requisite, nor should the Habs look to fill lineup holes solely on the merit of language, BPA,,, best player available.

Notes indicate the KHL kid Wideman is going to sit out - Norlinder has the onerous task of being paired with Savard - sort of like swimming with ankle weights in a return to the pool

:4224:. Somewhat surprised it wasn't Romanov. Maybe they're starting to get it over there,,, lost season, play the kids.

Am I missing something?  I don't see Josh Brook listed anywhere on the Laval Roster. Upon doing a further search, I found an older page that showed him with a red plus beside his name. He also hadn't played any games thus far. Do we know what is going on with him? I thought he was one of our better D prospects.

He's still out with a knee injury. Last update i believe was out until late this month.
