  1. Looks like the Caps have woken up - or could it be the Smith-Pelly effect?
  2. Size, speed, skill - Columbus is not your typical just-squeaked-into-the-playoffs team. Yeah, you wouldn't bet on the Bolts taking the series, but they were pretty awesome for the last 25-30 minutes last night, so ... Next one should be a barn burner.
  3. So ... you're telling us there's a Carey connection?
  4. CGY over CGY in 4 ? Okay smartypants, who would win a fight between Rocky and Rambo?
  5. Well, his team is better than they were last year. Who was the bum they had as GM last year???
  6. I'm not expecting a late 70s type dynasty, but c'mon - at the end of the 7th year of a 5 year plan and people are excited about having a small chance to make the playoffs even with, maybe, the top goalie.
  7. Yes, I suspect the same. But what would you like to see?
  8. I'm starting to think he's just afraid to get hit and, along with ram's point, maybe the other teams are realizing this and using it to force him to cough up the puck.
  9. Wow. MB has succeeded in one area - creating low expectations. Anyone remember when Steve Shutt said: "The fans love us, win or tie .................. but don't tie too often."?
  10. Was going to post the same question. Play all the young guys who are available.
  11. We were waiting for you to say that. Welcome to "Groundhog Day" in Habsville.
  12. But hey, you can always take a very relaxing look at ...........THE OUT OF TOWN SCOREBOARD! BWAHAHAHA!
  13. (I'm gonna tell Eller you said that! ) Also, there's the tiny detail of avoiding the Pens, who they might end up playing if they slip to 2nd.
  14. Doing some "high IQ research" (got that from a flatearther!), I found that the Caps play the Isles (Sat.) who are within reach of the Caps. So maybe ...
  15. So do I. I had to look it up to find out what was after ROW, so I figured I'd post it here.
  16. Tie-breaker info: If at the conclusion of the regular season two teams competing for the final playoff berth in a conference are tied in points, ROW (regulation plus overtime wins), points in their season series (excluding the first home game for the team that has the extra game) and goal differential for the season, the following procedure will apply: * A tiebreaking game will be played. ... (I believe this is up to date.)
  17. I believe this is the up-to-date tie-breaker info: If at the conclusion of the regular season two teams competing for the final playoff berth in a conference are tied in points, ROW (regulation plus overtime wins), points in their season series (excluding the first home game for the team that has the extra game) and goal differential for the season, the following procedure will apply: * A tiebreaking game will be played.
  18. Maybe you're looking for ROWs (the 1st tie-breaker) instead of Ws. Columbus - 94 pts. (44 ROW) Carolina - 93 pts (41 ROW) Habs - 92 pts (40 ROW) * ROW = regulation / overtime wins without SO wins.
  19. Yup. And you have to wonder, if the Habs make it into the playoffs, does he sit for some or all the games then too?
  20. Can't really expect the Jets to take their foot off the gas. They could slip to a wildcard spot. To make matters worse, they lost last night. After that, who knows?
