Tom Waits - "Step Right Up"

Step right up, step right up, step right up,

Everyone's a winner, bargains galore

That's right, you too can be the proud owner

Of the quality goes in before the name goes on

One-tenth of a dollar, one-tenth of a dollar, we got service after sales

You need perfume? we got perfume, how 'bout an engagement ring?

Something for the little lady, something for the little lady,

Something for the little lady, hmm

Three for a dollar

We got a year-end clearance, we got a white sale

And a smoke-damaged furniture, you can drive it away today

Act now, act now, and receive as our gift, our gift to you

They come in all colors, one size fits all

No muss, no fuss, no spills, you're tired of kitchen drudgery

Everything must go, going out of business, going out of business

Going out of business sale

Fifty percent off original retail price, skip the middle man

Don't settle for less

How do we do it? how do we do it? volume, volume, turn up the volume

Now you've heard it advertised, don't hesitate

Don't be caught with your drawers down,

Don't be caught with your drawers down

You can step right up, step right up

That's right, it filets, it chops, it dices, slices,

Never stops, lasts a lifetime, mows your lawn

And it mows your lawn and it picks up the kids from school

It gets rid of unwanted facial hair, it gets rid of embarrassing age spots,

It delivers a pizza, and it lengthens, and it strengthens

And it finds that slipper that's been at large

under the chaise lounge for several weeks

And it plays a mean Rhythm Master,

It makes excuses for unwanted lipstick on your collar

And it's only a dollar, step right up, it's only a dollar, step right up

'Cause it forges your signature

If not completely satisfied, mail back unused portion of product

For complete refund of price of purchase

Step right up

Please allow thirty days for delivery, don't be fooled by cheap imitations

You can live in it, live in it, laugh in it, love in it

Swim in it, sleep in it,

Live in it, swim in it, laugh in it, love in it

Removes embarrassing stains from contour sheets, that's right

And it entertains visiting relatives, it turns a sandwich into a banquet

Tired of being the life of the party?

Change your shorts, change your life, change your life

Change into a nine-year-old Hindu boy, get rid of your wife,

And it walks your dog, and it doubles on sax

Doubles on sax, you can jump back Jack, see you later alligator

See you later alligator

And it steals your car

It gets rid of your gambling debts, it quits smoking

It's a friend, and it's a companion,

And it's the only product you will ever need

Follow these easy assembly instructions it never needs ironing

Well it takes weights off hips, bust, thighs, chin, midriff,

Gives you dandruff, and it finds you a job, it is a job

And it strips the phone company free take ten for five exchange,

And it gives you denture breath

And you know it's a friend, and it's a companion

And it gets rid of your traveler's checks

It's new, it's improved, it's old-fashioned

Well it takes care of business, never needs winding,

Never needs winding, never needs winding

Gets rid of blackheads, the heartbreak of psoriasis,

you don't know the meaning of heartbreak, buddy,

C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon

'Cause it's effective, it's defective, it creates household odors,

It disinfects, it sanitizes for your protection

, it wins the election

Why put up with painful corns any longer?

It's a redeemable coupon, no obligation, no salesman will visit your home

We got a jackpot, jackpot, jackpot, prizes, prizes, prizes, all work guaranteed

How do we do it, how do we do it, how do we do it, how do we do it

We need your business, we're going out of business

We'll give you the business

Get on the business end of our going-out-of-business sale

Receive our free brochure, free brochure

Read the easy-to-follow assembly instructions, batteries not included

Send before midnight tomorrow, terms available,

Step right up, step right up, step right up

You got it buddy: the large print giveth, and the small print taketh away

Step right up, you can step right up, you can step right up

C'mon step right up

(Get away from me kid, you bother me...)

Step right up, step right up, step right up, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon

Step right up, you can step right up, c'mon and step right up,

C'mon and step right up

Only Time lyrics, by Enya,,try YouTube.

Who can say

where the road goes

where the day flows

only time

And who can say

if your love grows

as your heart chose

only time

Who can say

why your heart sighs

as your love flies

only time

And who can say

why your heart cries

when your love lies

only time

Who can say

when the roads meet

that love might be

[| From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/e/enya-lyrics/only-time-lyrics.html |]

in your heart

And who can say

when the day sleeps

if the night keeps

all your heart

Night keeps all your heart

Who can say

if your love grows

as your heart chose

only time

And who can say

where the road goes

where the day flows

only time

Who knows - only time

Who knows - only time

"Throw Some Water In"

Oh ah! Oh babbadeeda.

Oh ah! Oh babbadeeda.

Service your engine if you want it to function.

Check your oil and clean your radiator.

Make sure you clean your carburator.

Throw some water in the radiator.

Throw some water in!

Throw some water in!

Throw some water in!

Throw some water in your radiator!

Service your body if you want it to function.

Exercise and build up your structure.

Go to sea and learn how to swim.

If you can't afford off a gym.

Buy a piece of rope!

Buy a piece of rope!

Buy a piece of rope!

Exercise and tune up your system!

Oh ah! Babbaree, babbadeja.

Oh ah! Uh!

Throw some water in!

Throw some water in!

Throw some water in!

Do more service, water your garden!

Water your garden, your seed will grow, uh!

Service your engine and it will go, uh!

Throw some water in!

Throw some water in!

Throw some water in!

Throw some water in the radiator!

Service your body if you want it to function.

Exercise and build up your structure.

Go to sea and learn how to swim.

If you can't afford off a gym.

Buy a piece of rope!

Buy a piece of rope!

Buy a skipping rope!

Exercise if you love your system!

Water your garden and it will grow.

Service your car and it will go.

Service your body!

Eat the right food!

Get some tonic!

Drink some fish tea!

Oh-ho-ho ya, oh dabbadeeja.

Where is the light that I thought I was promised?

Where is the truth, and the hope and the way?

I've lost my footing, my spine, my eyes

Everything keeps slipping away

Where is the storybook ending?

The love, the joy, the laughter?

Is all there is just nothing at all?

Is there anything that matters?

Is this all we get for our lives?

And after everything, why is it still so lonely?

So blank, so dry, so numb

Are we brought up just to crack and bleed out?

Unravel, coming undone

Is this all we get?

Is this all we get for our lives?

Is this all we get?

The End by Showbread. This will always be one of my favourite songs.

Just a thought here,,,but,,,,wouldn't the lyrics be better with musical accompaniment? What I mean is, that the words really don't do the song justice without music. They are just words, IMO. What I mean is,,,,go to YouTube and post your favorite version of the song. It's hard to tell what the song sounds like without music. Get my drift?

I was thinking of doing that, but I don't think the music is something anyone on here would really enjoy.. it's kind of hard to put in to words what I mean. But it is a good idea, kinot. I'll do that in the future.

It's worth a shot Clues,,,personally I like to just lay back and enjoy the song (or not), but I am willing to give it a try. For example,,,,when I seen the thread on the "Somebody That I Used To Know", if I had just read the lyrics,,,,they would probably have meant nothing to me, but after actually hearing it with music and vocals, it was great. :)

Billy Bragg - "Levi Stubbs' Tears"

With the money from her accident

She bought herself a mobile home

So at least she could get some enjoyment

Out of being alone

No one could say that she was left up on the shelf

It's you and me against the World kid she mumbled to herself

CHORUS:

When the world falls apart some things stay in place

Levi Stubbs' tears run down his face

She ran away from home with her mother's best coat

She was married before she was even entitled to vote

And her husband was one of those blokes

The sort that only laughs at his own jokes

The sort that war takes away

And when there wasn't a war he left her anyway

Norman Whitfield and Barratt Strong

Are here to make right everything that's wrong

Holland and Holland and Lamont Dozier too

Are here to make it all okay with you

One dark night he came home from the sea

And put a hole in her body where no hole should be

It hurt her more to see him walking out the door

And though they stitched her back together they left her heart in pieces on the

floor

When the world falls apart some things stay in place

She takes off the Four Tops tape and puts it back in its case

When the world falls apart some things stay in place

Levi Stubbs' tears...

No problem. Bragg's tunes like the above that really probe human emotions are more to my liking than is overtly political lyrics.

Some of the song lyrics aren't appropriate for the forum so I can't post them all or post a video containing the song, but my favourite song lyric at the moment is,

When life starts to seem so sad

Just remember it ain't so bad

From the song Empassant by Black Lips.
