Sounds simpler... with one "however": Waiting for a higher ranked player to predict first could prove mildly problematic (and for me, a bit more so). Some folk don't post until quite late in the day. Others of us post fairly early. Some only visit once during the day. Others are here all the time. Unless the specific circumstances you outline above arose (and thank you for the boost to my ego - though the opposite is the current status ;) ), I, for example, might have to wait until midnight local time for my opponent to predict. Or people would be checking back every so often to see if their opponent has predicted.
Good point CH.....We could always ask them to make a choice before the playoffs start and use that decision for all games throughout. In other words,,,,if they pick "even" then they get "even" for every game throughout the playoffs, as a tie breaker. ;)
Engineers always add in that safety factor, which makes everything odd. :D
I took into consideration that he was at La Cage that night. :P:lol:

Ah yes. Engineers and alcohol. I know about that, too. A degree in engineering and a lifetime of studying alcohol.. Yup. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. It remains odd.

TO ALL SCOUTS AND ADMIN...

In an effort to present a more comprehensive scouting system, I'm considering a new approach to scouting responsibilities. As Chief Scout I would assume the responsibility of posting all Previews, Head to Heads, Stats and the Daily line (in short form - i.e. http url links).

Scouts would be required to visit their respective team's website and post news, articles, quotes from forums and the latest updates (Ice Chips on the TSN.CA website is a good source: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/ ... scroll down the page to find it)

Additional news, articles and recaps would also be the Scouts' responsibilty and can be found with various sources as follows:

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/

http://www.nhl.com/

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/

http://www.habsinsideout.com/

http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/index

http://msn.foxsports.com/nhl

http://www.rds.ca/hockey/

http://www.thestar.com/sports/hockey

http://www.tqs.ca/sports/hockey/

http://thehockeynews.com/

As well as any other source individual scouts may be aware of.

Your comments, suggestions and thoughts are welcome and a vote is required to implement this new structure. All votes and comments should be posted in the Scouting Thread.

The Admiral :)

Opinion is welcomed and encouraged vis a vis any team and general take on the Eastern Conference. ENJOY!!!

Hey guys...now that we've reached the end of the year, I'm beginning to close threads that have no correlation to the post-season. I'll keep the active and relevant ones open through out the post season. The predictions and scouting ones will remain open till the end of the playoffs of course.

I was wondering if I should also close the Numebrs thread. Will we have any numbers for the playoffs? chocolate any ideas? Other...any numbers you would want to see?

Oh...and I'm not sure about the MN-Jeopardy either...

As far as the Numbers thread, I can't think of any with the current format... perhaps Chocolate has an idea himself. The Jeopardy could still be run for MN-Stanley and as always I would participate if the interest was there.

I think, the Numbers thread can be closed.

OK, so just to let everyone know, I will close all threads in here, with the exception of two:

1) Predictions: I'll keep it open obviously, until the playoffs are over. I will close it a few days after the champion is declared.

2) Administration: I will keep this one open indefinitely...until the beginning of next year (unless the mods want to close the sub-forum). I figure we can use this thread to discuss ideas and prepare for next year.
