So I decide to watch the rest of the draft on NHL.com and I finally find it only to get this reallllly long "belly burner" commercial. So terrible.

I think people take the NHL draft too seriously. It isn't like the NFL or NBA drafts where most guys (at least in the first 2 or 3 rounds in the NFL) can step in right away. You can't judge what we've drafted yet just because TSN doesn't rave about the players.

Soory JR we just missed him at number 1 with are 56th pick, I guess we should have moved up a bit. I thought for sure he was going to fall in the draft.

well trading carbo and muller might have gotten us into the top 10

Toronto is really drafting well. They got Luke Schenn yesterday and today they got another power forward in the making with Jimmy Hayes. They also got skill with Stefanovic.

Let's see if they can actually develop these guys properly or will they trade them away only to see them excel elsewhere as usual.

That draft pick could have been a great player.

Yeah 3 or 4 years from now maybe. How the heck can people complain about this trade. Tanguay is a proven star who will fit in very well and on top of that wants to play here. Bob is damed if he does and damned if he doesn't it seems.

QUOTE (mateus @ Jun 21 2008, 08:14 AM)

and they wont be impact players for another 5 years, thus in his books there useless.

yup

If things go well, our impacts from this draft will be Sundin and Tanguay.

And their impact will be huge !!!
