Toronto 5 Cleveland 1.  Aaron Sanchez combines with three relievers to limit Cleveland to one run on two hits using curveballs.  A diving stop on a groundball by Josh Donaldson ended the fifth inning and stopped the tying run from scoring.  A throwing error by Bryan Shaw on a swinging bunt in the sixth led to two runs for Toronto in the sixth.  Cleveland leads the series 3-1.

Los Angeles Dodger 6 Chicago Cubs 0.  Rich Hill combines with three relievers to limit Chicago to four hits.  Hill dominated the Cubs with curveballs and the bullpen used fastballs and cutters.  The Dodgers also stole three bases, one of which scored ahead of a home run and another scored from third on a groundout in the eighth inning.  Los Angeles leads the series 2-1.

Cleveland 3 Toronto 0.  Ryan Merritt combines with three relievers to shut down Toronto on six hits.  Merritt changed speeds on a variety of pitches in 4 2/3 innings and Cleveland's bullpen continued to handcuff the Blue Jays.  Toronto got only two runners into scoring position - in the fifth and ninth.  In the fifth, two strikeouts ending the inning and in the ninth, a leadoff double was stranded.  Cleveland also turned two twin killings and a backhand stop in the hole in the eighth resulted in a forceout a second base.  Toronto finished the series 1 for 35 with two outs and a runner on base.  Cleveland wins the series 4-1 and advances to the World Series.

Chicago Cubs 8 Los Angeles Dodgers 4.  A failure to the timely hit by Los Angeles and misplays in the eighth inning give the Cubs the win.  The Dodgers had runners in scoring position in three of the first four innings and hit into a double play in the eighth.  Pedro Baez dropped the throw at first base for an error that led to a five run inning.  Baez also failed to cover the bag and allowed another run to score.  Cubs lead the series 3-2.

Chicago Cubs 5 Los Angeles Dodgers 0.  Chicago advances to the World Series for the first time since 1945 as Kyle Hendricks shut down the Dodgers on two hits keeping his pitches down in the strike zone.  The Dodgers hit into three double plays including the ninth inning and had a runner picked off first base in the second.  A dropped flyball for a two base error led to the Cubs' second run in the first.  Cubs win series 4-2 and will play Cleveland starting Tuesday night.

Cleveland 6 Chicago Cubs 0.  Cory Kluber combines with two relievers to shut down Chicago on seven hits.  The Cubs had trouble with Kluber's sinkerball, slider, and curveball and wasted chances in the fourth, seventh, eighth, and ninth innings.  A running catch in shallow center field by Rajai Davis in the seventh was the first of three straight outs with the bases loaded.  Roberto Perez got a room service fastball in the fourth and hanging slider in the eighth to account for four runs after having only three homers all season.  Cleveland got a two out single in the first by Franicisco Lindor, a stolen base, two walks, a swinging bunt, and a hit batter for their first two runs.  Cleveland leads the series.

Cleveland 7 Chicago Cubs 2.  Cubs continue to struggle with runners in scoring position chasing pitches out of the strike zone.  Pitches over the plate and into the right field bleaches gave Cleveland four runs.  Throwing errors by Kris Bryant in the second allowed Cleveland to take the lead after Carlos Santana started the inning with a homer.

Chicago Cubs 9 Cleveland 3.  The longball and a defensive lapse by Cleveland give Chicago the win.  Cleveland had problems getting the third out in the first inning allowing a home run to Kris Bryant on an 0-2 curveball, two singles, and flyball that dropped between Lonnie Chisenhall and Tyler Naquin for a two run double.  Addison Russell added a grand slam in the fourth and Anthony Rizzo had a two run shot in the ninth.  Series tied 3-3.

Chicago Cubs 8 Cleveland 7, 10 innings.  Chicago wins the World Series for the first time since 1908, despite three errors, two by Javier Baez who botched routine plays.  A throwing error by catcher David Ross put runners at second and third and both of them scored on the same wild pitch.  The Cubs blew leads of 5-1 and 6-3 when Rajai Davis sat on a four seam fastball and lined just inside the left field foul pole to tie the game 6-6 in the eighth.  Both teams put too many pitches over the plate.  Ben Zobrist's RBI double in the 10th was the go ahead run and intentional walk to Addison Russell to set up a doubleplay proved to be the winning run as Cleveland nearly rallied with two outs and no one on.  A chopper to Kris Bryant was the final out of the season.  Chicago becomes the first team to comeback from a 3-1 series since Kansas City in 1985 against St. Louis and the first such team to win Games 6 and 7 on the road since Pittsburgh in 1979 against Baltimore.
