Detroit 10 New York Yankees 6.  Jose Iglesias bails out Detroit's bullpen with a three run double in the seventh after the Yankees tied it in the top half.  Starter Michael Fulmer walked the first two batters but reliever Daniel Stumpf allowed both runners to score.  Defense was a deciding factor as Detroit turned three double plays and Justin Upton reached over the left field fence to rob Aaron of a three run homer.

Detroit 6 Chicago White Sox 3.  Buck Farmer uses command of his fastball to set up the slider in limiting the Sox to three runs in 5 2/3 innings.  The bullpen shut down Chicago the remainder of the game.  Detroit jumped on Carlos Rodon's fastball while laying off the slider for five of their runs, three of them coming on consecutive home runs in the third.  A stolen base in the fourth resulted in Detroit's fifth run.  Detroit turned a twin killing in the eighth.

Detroit 4 Colorado 3.  Jordan Zimmerman combines with the bullpen to limit Colorado to three runs despite allowing 13 hits.  Pitches were made at the right moments as the Rockies missed chances in the first, sixth, and seventh.  A doubleplay in the seventh snuffed out a possible rally.

Colorado 7 Detroit 3.  Pitch selection by Daniel Saupold results in a three run bomb in the seventh.  Saupold attempted to use the same pitching pattern from the previous night and Nolan Acenado sat on fastball that he sent to the seats for the game's final scoring.  Detroit hitters had difficulty with the slider from starter German Marquez and did nothing against the Rockies' bullpen.  Detroit also missed chances in the first and fifth - the fifth when Michael Fulmer bunted into a doubleplay after a run had scored.

Kansas City 7 Detroit 6.  Pitches up in the strike zone and over the plate, the gopher ball, defensive plays, and poor baserunning by Detroit give Kansas City.  A leaping grab by Alex Gordon took away a three run homer, a sliding catching in the sixth prevented a game tying two run double.  Andrew Romine attempted to score from second on a ball to the shortstop and was an easy out at the plate.  Three home runs by the Royals resulted in four runs.
