Last night, for the second time, Detroit loses 7-3 in 11 innings. Once again, they miised a few scoring chances, most notably in the eigth inning when, Miguel Cabrera attempted to score on a fly ball to normal depth right field and was thrown at home by about ten feet. It would have made sense if he had any speed at all. Detroit now trails in the series 3-1 with Game 5 already underway. Texas leads 1-0.

St. Louis manager Tony Larussa retires after 33 seasons. He leaves with the third most wins as a manager with 2728 and joins Sparky Anderson as winning World Series titles in both leagues (St. Louis in 2006 and 2011 and Oakland in 1989). Anderson won titles with the Big Red Machine (Cincinnati Reds) in 1975-76 and with Detroit in 1984.
