Sergei Kostitsyn

Bah, I wish they wouldn't even make these sorts of 'reports'. All it said was he wasn't on the bus, then they followed it up with a bunch of hypotheticals. Did he miss the bus? Had he spent the night in Quebec? If you don't know the answer to those questions, how is this even a news story? For all we know he had a doctor's appointment before the game.

Looks like the media's going to be getting on him early this year <_<

I agree the ***** has started again.

Does he need a new alarm clock?

I don't think he realizes who is coach is this year. He missed the bus that took the players to le colisee in Quebec City and made it to practice just in time (must have been a world record for getting his equipment on).

wake up Sergei!! <_<

Wow this really upsets me. Does the media even want the Canadiens to win, because they're doing everything they can to make it a repeat of last year

Gotta love it ....

Jacques Martin got on Sergei Kostitsyn today.

"What the **** are you doing over there?" Martin bellowed.

Later in the morning drills, Martin made a chalk-talk point and asked: "You got that, Sergei?"

"This was really my first practice with him," Martin said in his post-practice press conference, pointing out that Sergei has skated with a split squad to date. The coach said Kostitsyn, like the other players still in camp, have to "develop the habits we want."

Hey SK, hope you enjoy Hamilton :P

So Martin yelled at him during practice. So what? He's been injured IIRC through a lot of camp and it's only normal for him to be behind on systems.

I'm sure Sergei didn't go into practice without being told what's going to be done.

ya but im sure Jacq ran through the drill before the players did it, he wanted everyone supporting the puck carrier which isnt difficult to comprehend but sergei was at the far blueline while the puck was still in our zone. ridiculous

Sure, and Sergei's the first person in the history of NHL practices to make a mistake and not do what the coach said? Learning something new and making it a part of your instinctive physical play takes time.

I seriously can't believe we're dumping on Sergei for making a mistake during his first practice under Martin's direct supervision.

It is when you're a young player coming off years of Carboaching and this is the first practice in which your head coach is supervising you directly.

HONEST TO GOD, people, lighten up and give the kid a break.

Geez, it's a mistake. It wasn't the first time someone made one and it won't be the last time. That's what practising is for, is it not? And the coach is there to correct those mistakes. I don't know why there is this fuss over it.
