Brendon Nash

Recommended Posts

From www.hockeysfuture.com:

"Nash is a smart, offensive-minded defenseman who possesses a nice combination of size, mobility and puck skills. He uses his 6'3 frame and long reach to great advantage, particularly in protecting or stripping the puck. He's also not afraid to join the offensive play. Defensively, he is solid and keeps things pretty simple. Nash has great poise and patience with the puck, but what sets him apart from many young defensemen is in his timely passing ability, particularly on power plays. Though he skates quite well for a big man, Nash needs to work on having quicker feet. Developing speed and strength are two areas that will be paramount to his future success."

Edit: Aw! didnt realize Jagger beat me to it ahah!

IMO, this is the guy who should have been called up, not Webber. He has size, has good defensive numbers and is proving to be effective on the pp down in Hamilton. Seems like a better all round player to me.

From the games I've been to, Weber has been the Dogs best defenseman by far. Nash isn't anything special and should only be called up if there's a huge amount of injuries.

i understand what you mean, weber's offensive skills are definetly a level above nash's but weber's defensive decisions are a couple levels below nash. i think weber has the future of a marc-andre bergeron and nash the future of a josh gorges with a better offensive upside.

From what I've seen Nash has looked pretty weak defensively whereas Weber has been one of the Dogs better defensemen is in his own end.

I believe he plays with Weber on the PP in Hamilton, as it's his first year in the pros, the Habs don't want to rush his learning process. He looks like he may join the Habs one day but probably a couple of years yet.
