San Francisco wide receiver Michael Crabtree suffered a torn Achilles tendon during Organized Team Activities and has already had surgery according to reports. He is likely to miss the entire upcoming season, though advances in treating this type of injury could bring Crabtree back in November. With Crabtree on the shelf, the acquisition of Anquan Bolden from Baltimore for a sixth round pick becomes a big move for the 49ers. With the addition of receivers Mario Manningham and Kyle Williams recovering from knee injuries, the 49ers are thin at wide receiver.

NFL Hall of Fame defensive end Deacon Jones has died at 74. Jones played 14 seasons in the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams, San Diego, and Washington, the first 11 with the Rams. He was named to eight Pro Bowl teams, seven consecutively with the Rams. He was traded to Washington for the 1972 season and played his final year with San Diego in 1974.

Jones teamed with Merlin Olsen, Roosevelt Grier, and Lamar Lundy to form the Fearsome Foursome, a defensive front line that made life miserable for quarterbacks. Jones was credited with coining the phrase "sacking the quarterback" and had such been kept during his career, he would be up among the alltime leaders. As it was, the statistic was not kept until 1982.

i wonder what Hernandez' relationship was with a semi-pro football player.

So far, that is not being disclosed. According to either ESPN or another source, Hernandez is expected to be arrested for obstruction of justice in connection with the security system and the cellphone. Police are also investigating why a cleaning crew was at Hernandez's home on Monday.

Hernandez is also being investigated for a triple driveby shooting at an intersection in Boston on July 15, 2012 which resulted in a double homicide. The shooting occured after an argument between the two male victims and a group that included Hernandez at a nightclub. Where else? There is speculation that the victim in Odin Lloyd case, mainly Lloyd himself may have had information relating to the double homicide that occured last summer.

Lefeged was and another psassenger, who was standing upright in the backseat when the Camaro was first stopped, were arrested when they tried to flee in differendt directions. The driver got away. Lefeged is charged with possession of a firearm without a license, possession of an unregistered firearm, unregistered ammunition, and presence of a firearm in a motor vehicle.

This arrest brings the total to 28 NFL players who have arrested since the Super Bowl. The NFL says it is being flagged with an image problem. Nothing like dramatically understating the case, is there?
