Denver Broncos director of player personnell Matt Russell was arrested Saturday and charged with DUI after hitting a police car. He was also charged with having an open container of alcohol, careless driving that resulted in injury, and failure to provide proof of insurance.

Denver's director of pro personnell and former Cleveland general manager Tom Heckert has become the second Bronco executive to be arrested for DUI when he was actually arrest June 11 and charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving. A pretrial conference for Heckert is scheduled for August 30. Heckert had joined the Broncos on May 7. It looks like there might be some openings in the front ofice anyone is interested.

The arrests just keep coming as New England cornerback Alfonso Dennard is arrested again, this time for DUI in Nebraska before 2:00 A.M. today. Dennard refused a breathilyzer and was also cited for straddling lanes. This is in addition to a jail sentence for assaulting a police officer which lower his draft stock.

Tampa Bay has traded cornerback Eric Wright to San Francisco for a conditional 2014 draft pick, reportedly a late round selection. Wright had been caught driving under the influence and was separately suspended for performance enhancing drugs. Wright, who had signed a $37.5 million five year contract, would have been released if Tampa Bay had not found a trade partner.

New York Giants safety Will Hill has been suspended for the first four games of the season for performance enhancing drugs. He had a previous suspension for Adderall. This time, it's for substance abuse and comes after his career at Florida was derailed by partying and drug use and was undrafted as a result.

Detroit begins the task of attempting to fill three holes in the offensive front line. Two left as free agents and another retired. So far, rookie larry Warford, free agent Jake Scott, and backup center Dylan Gandy have seen time at one of the guard spots. Tackle Riley Reiff and veteran Jason Fox are bookending the front line at this point. Dominic Raiola and guard Rob Sims have also taken first team snaps.

Denver linebacker Vonn MIller has been suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the NFL policy on substance abuse. Miller's representatives will be meeting with league officials August 15 to discuss an appeal according to the Denver Post which reported the story last night citing a league source.

Investigators in the Aaron Hernandez case have focused on his fiancee Shayanna Jenkins. Warrants suggested she had instructed by Hernandez to dispose of a gun safe or lock box which may have contained the murder weapon. Warrants also suggest the weapon was either dumped in the woods or taken to a Bristol,Connecticut storage unit. Jenkins was reportedly seen on surveillance video taking weapon out of the house.
