Indianapolis center Khaled Holme sustained an ankle injury on the Colts' first preseason possession at the New York Jets five yard line. The Colts entered their preseason contest with concerns about their interior front line when Donald Thomas tore a quad and was lost for the season. Their front line got even thinner when another lineman sustained an injury.

From Yahoo. Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch is under investigation for an assault and property damage against a female victim. Lynch has had previous run-ins with the law with a January 2008 hit-and-run complaint and a February 2009 concealed weapons charge. He also copped a guilty plea for a January 2012 DUI arrest two weeks after the Super Bowl. If further charges are filed, Lynch runs the risk of a probation violation and a violation of the league's personal conduct policy. We'll see what comes from this.

Kansas City wide receiver Dwayne Bowe has been suspended for the season opening for violating the league's substance abuse policy. What a joke. It looks Goodell is getting even softer. The suspension resulted from an arrest last November for possession of marijuana a charge that was reduced to defective equipment and littering. It sounds like something that belongs on the "Good Laugh" thread.

Johnny Manziel struggles in last night preseason game against the Redskins in hitting open receivers and adding an inflammatory gesture inappropriate for adults. Manziel completed 7 of 16 for 65 yards and a touchdown. Brian Hoyer also struggled and was 2 for 6 for 16 yards. Both stats turned out to be padded by series against Washington's backups. Maniel was 2 for 7 for 29 yards and Hoyer was 0 for 2 against Washington's starters.

Pittsburgh running backs La'Veon Bell and LeGarrett Blount were taken into custody along with a female passenger for possession of marijuana yesterday at 1:30 P.M. Both are expected to be formally charged with possession and Bell will likely be charged with driving under the influence of marijuana. Assuming both are formally charged, they will face discipline from the league for violating the substance abuse policy. Both, however, are expected to play in tonight's preseason game with Philadelphia which is laughable.

Minnesota wide receiver Jerome Simpson has been suspended for the first three games for violating the league's substance abuse policy. The suspension is a result of a DUI arrest last November. The ban is his second. A previous ban was mailing two pounds of marijuana to his home in Kentucky, something for the "Good Laugh" thread.

San Francisco linebacker Aldon Smith will miss nine games for violating the league's substance abuse and personal conduct policy. Smith has history of run-ins with the law and this suspension, his second, stems from a no contest plea to weapons charges and two DUI's that were connected to a 2012 party at his home. One of the DUI's was related to this case. Smith missed five games last season for violating the substance abuse policy following a DUI arrest and also made a bomb threat to a TSA agent at the Los Angeles International Airport earlier this year. No charges were filed in that case.

San Francisco defensive tackle Ray McDonald has been arrested on felony domestic violence charges after officers responded to home in an upscale neighborhood. McDonald was released after posting bail. It turns out there will be a six game suspense for those convicted of domestic abuse. A second suspension will result in a lifetime ban from the league.

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay has been suspended for the first six games of the season for violating the league's personal conduct policy. The suspension comes after an arrest in April for driving under the influence of painkillers. Irsay must also submit to drug testing and will lose his driver's license. He was also placed one year's probation and cannot consume or possess alcohol during his probation.
