Detroit 34 Minnesota 28 largely due to Vikings stopping themselves with turnovers. Even then, victory wasn't secure until the game's final play which began on the Detroit one yard line. In a play fit for Halloween Detroit's DeAndre Levy Minnesota forced a fumble and got away with a facemask penalty. The ball popped loose at the 11 and was batted toward midfield by the LIons'Stephen Tulloch. Backup quaterback Joe Webb ran down the ball and tried to pick the ball, but it was knocked loose before Lions' defensive end Cliff Avril covered the ball at the Minnesota 43.

To set up the final play from Sunday's game, Minnesota was at the Detroit two yard line with nine seconds and no timeouts and needing to spike the ball to stop the clock. The Lions saved them the trouble by jumping offsides. Definitely your bonehead penalty of the year do far. Next up, on the road at Oakland at 4:00 P.M. Eastern time.

Detroit 28 Oakland 27 despite nine dropped passes and one dimensional offense. Detroit trailed 27-14 with 7:47 left after Oakland score on a six yard fumble recovery. Oakland could have run out the clock if that third pass hadn't been slightly overthrown. More likely, their receiver could have been in the end zone.

As it was, Oakland punted to the two yard line and then allows Detroit to move 98 yards in 1:35 and allowing

Calvin Johnson to get open three times including a 48 yard pass that was slightly underthrown. If Stafford had been able to lead him, Johnson is probably in the end zone.

Victory was secured when Ndamukong Suh, back from suspension, was able to get his hand on a 65 yard field goal attempt. If he hadn't, Sebastion Janokowski has a new NFL record field goal.
