no matter what i do i don't see DD fitting in long term.

I'd try this at the start of the year.

Patches, DD, Cole

Eller (he's done good at wing in the worlds) Plekanec Gionta

Bourque Galchenyuk Moen (potential to be a great shut down line)

I'm not sure you could rely on a yet to be drafted kid at center and the enigmatic Bourque at wing to constitute a good shutdown line. Moen has shown he can capable in that role, while even providing some offense, but I don't really see Galchenyuk and Bourque as being the best combination for a third line. Maybe Bourque could work, but I'm not certain about a rookie center.

Perhaps Lars Eller centering Rene Bourque and Travis Moen. I would feel more comfortable with that as a third line. It also gives Lars a defined role for a longer period of time than two weeks.
