That call on Ott could've very easily been tripping, holding, roughing, and unsportsmanlike. But players like Ott never get called after the first offence. If a guy like Plekanec did something like that, he'd easily got a double minor.

Definitely. The first two-thirds of the game was basically an NHL team playing keepaway against a bunch of scrubs.

To be fair, the Sabres of today are pretty much Thomas Vanek and the hockey version of the team that plays against the Harlem Globetrotters.

The Washington Wizards, right? :)

But that's what we should be doing. We should be owning a fire-sale team like the Sabres if we're serious about doing damage in the playoffs.

I'd like to think we could get a goal on Ryan Miller with thirteen shots in twenty minutes, but perhaps he just needs to get a bit more tired first.

If the Islanders and Sabres were to combine into one team, we'd never win a game again.

The Islabres?

Sabres are still only 4 points out of the playoffs, so I wouldn't say they're a firesale team quite yet, even though they haven't met expectations. The difference this year is that we're so far ahead of them, we don't see them as being in the playoff battle. But if we were one win away from being two points out, you wouldn't see Habs fans talking about being in the basement.
