So far, our Team Canada roster looks like this:

Price

Ward

Luongo

Doughty-Subban

Keith-Letang

Pietrangelo-Weber

Neal-Crosby-Giroux

Tavares-Toews-Perry

Nash-Stamkos-St. Louis

Sharp-Bergeron-Eberle

We'll add in Brent Seabrook as the spare defenceman, since he was far and away the next leading vote-getter after the top 6. So now the job is almost done... all that remains is to select the last two forwards you want to fill out the roster! You can pick centers, LW's, or RW's but please pick only your top two to complete the roster we already have.

probably not the most popular choices, but for extra's I'd bring in Iggy (experience and leadership) and Horton.

Iggy as i said before, for his leadership and experience. he was a big part of the 2010 Olympics Gold.

Horton, I really like this guy. Feel he doesn't always get the priase he deserves. The guy bring offense, defense and isn't afraid of the physical game.

My only issue with Iggy and Horton, how would they be on the bigger ice surfaces?

Iggy is obviously slowing and could be a liability on the larger ice. Horton, has decent speed, likes a close tight checking game, again, not sure how his game would translate onto a bigger ice surface.

A small speedy player like gallagher may actually benefit from a larger ice surface. If he can create his own room on the smaller NHL ice, imagine what he could do with more skating room.

I know it said 3, but these are the guys who interest me.

I picked Couture and Staal. Couture, because I feel he is still young and will eventually go to the Olympics, and we will need someone who could step right in, if the need arises. I picked Stall, because I think he is versatile and can be used as a scorer or PK specialist.

I went with Getzlaf and Kane.

I went with Getzlaf because I think he's the best of the bunch when it comes to skill (most importantly) and experience (secondary).

Kane, on the other hand, was chosen mainly because of the role that we're talking about - extra forward. I think it's harder to bring along someone like Iginla and then ask him to ride the pine for the entire tourney. Unless Canada plays a perfect tourney there's going to be pressure to play him and I just don't think he's at the necessary level anymore. Kane, on the other hand, is part of the future of Canadian hockey. He can gain the experience of participating in a big international tournament like the Olympics but won't have any expectations of ice time. And let's face it, the guy's no slouch right now - if there's an injury and he needs to fill in I have no doubt that he could hold his own

2 good choices manatee, I'm a big getzlaf fan, he has size, skill and is a right handed centerman (righty in the FO dot). The problem with Sochi is the bigger ice surfaces. I actually kane, who has decent foot speed and may be better on the larger ice surfaces than some of our previous choices.
