FWIW,,, Did you know that Justin Trudeau (Prime Minister of Canada, for those who didn't know) is a fan of the Montreal Canadiens?

Oh, you didn't? Trudeau was in Trawna to meet with the mayor. The mayor presented Trudeau with a Laffs jersey,,, Trudeau pulled up his pant leg, and here's the result.

They just aired an episode of that Habs documentary show on CTV. It was interesting in that the focus of the episode was on St. John's and the IceCaps. Really cool episode. I lived in St. John's for just over four years when I was completing my undergraduate degree in university. Eric Neilson seems like a great teammate.

According to the number-crunching geeks at www.sportsclubstats.com. Montreal’s chances of playing beyond the regular season dropped 11.7 per cent to 28.5 per cent.

I guess there's always a chance . But realistically they are done

Pittsburgh and Boston hold the wild card sports and they lead the Habs in points and have games in hand

The habs would have to go on some incredible winning streak :lol::lol: and Boston and Pittsburgh would have lose more than they win .

A'int goning to happen

per Pierre Lebrun twitter

Still, with or w/o Price, this is a Habs team that couldn't score last year and can't score again this year. Needs long-term fix. Not easy

'The Canadiens will have some very difficult decisions to make about their players if the NHL decides to expand for the 2017-18 season.'

'While no guarantees have been given either way - and commissioner Gary Bettman has made it very clear that the decision not expand at all is still very much on the table - both Quebec City and Las Vegas have been eagerly pursuing the opportunity to become the 31st and 32nd NHL franchises.'

'Smith-Pelly had two goals and an assist for the New Jersey Devils in a 7-4 win over the Minnesota Wild on Thursday night. Since being traded by the Canadiens on Feb. 29, Smith-Pelly has six goals and three assists in seven games with the Devils. He had six goals and six assists in 46 games with the Canadiens.

Matteau, 22, has one more season on a contract that pays him $612,500, but he’s quickly showing Canadiens fans why the Devils gave up on a player they selected in the first round (29th overall) at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

“We want him to be more engaged in a game,” Therrien said about Matteau. “He’s got a lot of tools in his bag. I want to make sure that he’s got an impact the way he’s supposed to play. This is what we’re looking for.”

Matteau does not play like he’s a 6-foot-2, 220-pounder — which he is. He is averaging two hits per game with the Canadiens — the exact same as his average in 20 games with New Jersey, where he scored one goal, had zero assists and was minus-9. He’s minus-3 with the Canadiens.'
