Ugg.

Its really frustrating because there's a good lineup there, its just not being deployed as such.

DD in the mix hurts us period. Our game against LA showed that as we played our best hockey thus far IMO. When will this coach learn?

Especially when we may well have guys (Hudon, McCarron, Andrighetto) who could be as effective (if not more so) right now than DD - and actually have a future with this team.

The first line has been working , Byron because of his speed gives this line another dimension and he has had a good nose around the net. You want more out of Pacs move him up along side Pleks. Pleks and Gallageer both need a jump and this has worked before. Let Danault center Shaw and Hudon , keep Mitchell at 4 line center with Terry and Carr or if DD has to play than DD on the wing. Or Danault with Pacs Shaw and Hudon up with Pleks.

Pacioretty  needs to be on one of the top 2 lines , he has proven that he can score when put in a position to succeed. I love that Chucky and Radulov are clicking like they are and although Byron is looking good there id have to move him to the 2nd line with Gal and Plecs and slot Patches on the top line. 5 years of proving yourself as a top 5 goal scorer the guy should get more respect IMO.

They certainly wouldn't do any worse than DD and any one of the three would benefit from the experience of steady employment with the big club.

I really liked what I saw from Danault as a center in the few games he played with Pacs and Shaw.  Any idea why they moved him back to wing???

Danault is a great 4th liner and a sub-par 2nd liner. Byron has been good but is he really a long-term solution on the 1st line or is MT just trying to ride the wave of luck as long as possible? Pacioretty is not going to get out of his slump playing with bottom 6 players. Desharnais is a waste on the 4th line but simply not good enough to play in the top 9 right now. He's best served by being in the pressbox. I'd go

Pacioretty-Galchenyuk-Radulov

Hudon-Plekanec-Gallagher

Byron-McCarron-Shaw

Danault-Mitchell-Carr

Desharnais had a 2 point game... coach thought it was a good idea to promote David :4845:

Now that DD is injured and Galchenyuk unlikely to return to action, it's a no-brainer that Pleky gets the No. 1 job.  IIRC, it worked perfectly one or two seasons ago with him, Pacioretty and Gallagher.  Now Radulov is a HUGE upgrade over Gallagher.  Maybe it's what gets Pleky going again in a strictly offensive role.

Danault moves up to 2C; Mitchell 3C and and Flynn 4C.  Forget the Shaw as centre experiment. Have to call up an AHL guy to play on one of the wings.  My nomination: Bud Holloway!

Wonder whether [edit] coach will agree.

Isn't much left in the AHL right now... Andrighetto again? Matteau and/or De La Rose could add much needed size... ?

McCarron and Hudon are supposedly close to full health again, so those would be the two guys I'd recall. Don't have as much faith in Andrighetto nor Terry, quite frankly. Scherbak could be another possibility down the line too. But I'd try

Pacioretty-McCarron-Radulov

Lehkonen-Plekanec-Gallagher

Hudon-Danault-Shaw

Byron-Mitchell-Carr

To me, Hudon in for DD doesn't hurt us that much. The real problem is trying to replace Galchenyuk, but the two guys left on that line are skilled and they're big and they're leaders. So you don't need to have a guy who can manage the line or who needs to be able to shoulder all the pressure. I think McCarron has the best chance of being able to handle the minutes and also to complement what Pacman and Radu bring. Obviously a very different dynamic than with Chucky there, but you have a great passer, puck carrier, and loose puck recovery machine in Radulov, you have a great shooter in Pacman, and then you add a guy who can play the corners and the front of the net in McCarron. It's got the most potential IMO.

I think MT used Byron,Plecky and Radulov as line early in the year and would not be surprised to see it again. I would like to see MItchell on the seccond line with Patches and Gallagher too. At least Mt can have fun with the juggling as it has become a bit of a necessity. Our depth appears to be much better this year so I still think we'll be okay.

Makes you wonder if there will be changes to the line-up again, even after the result last game. Where does McCarron slot in and who sits if he does? Would Therrien ever consider sitting Plekanec? We could see Flynn moved back to wing and one of Ghetto or Carr sitting out I guess.

The Lehkonen-Danault-Shaw line played really well, so I doubt that gets split up. I also don't think the coach will slot Mac onto the first line, so Plekanec probably keeps his job with Pac and Radu for now. Mitchell scored two goals, and there's no way Gallagher's getting bumped to the 4th line, so highly unlikely Mac makes that line either. So highest likelihood for now is that Mac replaces Daniel Carr or maybe Andrighetto in the line-up. Can't say I'd be disappointed to see that either; both those guys have been weak, and we'd be far better off with Hudon and Mccarron in over them.

McCarron will be busy with the Bruins and Sharks coming up after the Av game and we clearly need some size in  the line-up. I like Plecky centring Radu and Patches. Lehkonen with Mitchell and Gallagher, McCarron with Shaw and Byron, and Dannault centring Flynn and and Carr. Colorado has been playing a little better of late but the goal tending and defence has been problematic.  We could insert McCarron on the second or first PP to stand in front of the net. I hope he can stick with us for the remainder of the season.
