Considering what he did, yeah. He coulda just pushed the guy instead he had to punch him. Apparently, his reputation/past came into play too.

The bigger question is,,,, would he have received two games if he was still a Bruin? He no longer has Jacobs pulling strings for him behind closed doors, so he has to keep his nose clean now. Tall order.

Which he has already failed to do.

Depends on whether or not the Bruins would have made a contribution to the Bettman Benevolent Fund.

Another brutal display of reffing last night. Where do they find these guys?  I'm not crazy about all the delays that video review take up, but if that's what it takes to get things right then by all means expand it big time. Better yet,,, why even have these bozos on the ice? Can the whole bunch and do the reffing from the press box.

Just watched the entire game from last night on Sportsnet. The only penalty that wasn't even close to an actual penalty was the Kulak hit to the head. However that being said in a game where no calls are made in the first 38 minutes the refs influenced the outcome of the game in the end. Domi did kick the stick away then as he got to the box said something to the ref which gave him the extra 2 minutes. A lot of the time though that isn't called but it is technically an unsportsmanlike penalty. The hook by Danault in overtime was a weaker call even for this game however he did reach in and hook Hall on the hip. CJ was playing for the shootout instead of going for the win that's why he started the OT with Danault Gallagher and Petry. I also think the Danault goal was the right call it was pushed acrossed the line when he slid his hips forward however there should have been a penalty shot as a result as the Devil player did close his hand on the puck in the crease even if it was just for a second against Danaults leg. Danault was already upset about the goal being waived off and shouldn't have been starting the OT or even had a shift until he cooled off and that is on CJ. We lost cause we had mental breakdowns at inopportune times. The officials should have been more consistent throughout the game with their calls but then we should have been more disciplined as well.

And that's the crux of it,,, total lack of consistency. You let everything go for two periods then suddenly find your whistle and wonder why players express their frustration on the ice. If the 3rd period was the standard they were looking for, then who the hell was reffing the first 40 minutes? It's not like this is an outlier example either. This is rampant throughout the League. These guys are bush. Time to clean up this crap because it's no longer the best team that wins games, it's who these bozos chose to win. Way too many points being awarded based on human error
