On a minor note, the Philadelphia Flyers add to their prospect depth With Mason Millman signing, The third of the Flyers’ defensive choices in the 2019 draft, and the first prospect from that class to sign with the team, he was  the 103rd-overall pick.  He was signed  to a three-year, entry-level (ELC) deal.

Following the trade, the Lightning announced that both Gaborik and Nilsson will be placed on long-term injury reserve and will not play this season. (From TSN)

These types of trades should not be allowed.

These types of trades should not be allowed.

But that is why the Tampa Bays and the Leafs make these deals.

Carolina Hurricanes prospect Seth Jarvis has signed his entry-level deal with the team. The contract carries him through the 2022-23 season. Jarvis was the Hurricanes’ first-round pick this past draft, going thirteenth overall.  The deal will pay Jarvis $832,500 at the NHL level, $80,000 if he plays in the AHL and comes with a $277,500 signing bonus.

Flyers prospect suffers ACL injury in KHL game. Mikhail Vorobyev's 2020-21 KHL season came to a significant halt last Thursday.  The Flyers' 2015 fourth-round draft pick suffered an ACL injury and is out long term, his agent Dan Milstein confirmed to NBC Sports Philadelphia on Monday.

NHL.com.  Chicago centerJonathan Toews will miss training camp due to a medical issue.  He has complained of feeling drained and lethargic.  There is no timetable for his return.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have agreed to terms on a new contract with restricted free agent Pierre-Luc Dubois. The centre’s new deal is worth $1o million over two years with an annual average value of $5 million.

The Calgary Flames have signed forward Connor Zary to a three-year entry level contract. Zary, who is currently playing for Canada at the world junior hockey championship in Edmonton, was Calgary's first-round pick (24th overall) in October's NHL entry draft. According to the NHL's collective bargaining agreement, Zary's maximum compensation would be US$925,000 annually.

NHL.com.  Buffalo center Jack Eichel is day to day with an upper body injury and goaltender Linus Ullmark is quarantining due to an immigration issue and is expected to be available in a few days.

NHL.com.  Center Colin Wilson has retired after 11 seasons and 632 games with Nashville and Colorado.  He finishes with 113 goals and 173 assists.  He also played in 65 playoff games with 17 goals and 16 assists.
