Weber practised for the first time with the team today

Looked good in the clips I saw.   Not taking contact yet and Julien insists the timetable hasnt changed but his teammates sure looked pumped to have him back on the ice.

On saturday they were saying its possible he's back as early as next week.    I wonder what MB is going to do about all the bodies on D.   It sounds like he is actively shopping some (lets hope thats why Schlemko was getting so much ice time the last couple of games).

Not only that, but he's on the 2nd PP unit tonight, according to Arpon Basu. :(

Actually the power play is the one place i thought he looked quite good.  There was one sequence where he kept the puck in a the line like 4 times in one play. Maybe we're trying to market him as a top 4, PP specialist :P

:4224:   From TSN today: Defenceman Shea Weber has not yet been cleared for contact and the club wants to be cautious with him given the nature of his surgery head coach Claude Julien said Monday morning.

I'm guessing an orbital fracture? Pity. I suppose that takes the immediate pressure off of making a roster move for Weber

Yeah they are saying "facial fracture" out indefinitely.   Tough kid.

First and foremost lets hope he's ok & heals up well.   Then, please oh please Noah,  Hurry back!!

Agreed.  I actually think he slipped ahead of Mete this year in terms of potential going forward. Too bad that our (arguably) 3 best defensmen are all right handed shots!

One would think that even though Juulsen is out indefinitely he will be back within a week or so playing with a full face guard like Deslauriers was. Is it not the same injury? So we might not be at a disadvantage for too long.

I have a feeling Weber will be back before Juulsen, so i don't think they'll rush him, unless of course they're able to trade somebody in the very near future.

Oh I don't think they will rush him just figured he would be back sooner than later wearing a full shield.

So what exactly is the news on injured players all of whom I think make the Habs a better team?

Armia, Byron, Juulsen and Weber

And I wonder if Reilly is injured and in need of some time to heal from a minor issue... otherwise why has Julien given up on him so quickly?

Last i heard was Armia was going to be 6 weeks. Byron from what i understand is skating, so he has to be close. Weber might be back Tuesday and Juulsen i imagine will be a couple weeks and probably returns wearing a cage for a few more. No idea about Reilly.

Some good news...

Defenceman Noah Juulsen is awaiting medical clearance to return to the team's lineup. TSN's John Lu reports Juulsen could return as soon as Sunday, though he will be sporting a cage to protect his facial fracture into January.
