You got me.   But considering MB's history, a couple of days after a presser where he says he wont trade youth for immediate help, it would be total par for the course for him to trade our best prospect.

I don't think MB has control over trades at a junior level... does he?

If Marc Bergevin ever trades Nick Suzuki, I will hitch hike to MTL to beat him with one of those over-priced designer shoes he wears

Not from one team to another in junior but he can certainly trade Suzuki's rights to another NHL team which was the concern of the click-bait title! :P

That is something I would expect from Kinot. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I wouldn't stoop that low as to try to fool anyone, unlike some westerners.  :P

Damn,,,, i thought we traded him as part of a package for McDavid.

A headline like this wouldn't surprise me, because i don't hold MB at his word that he wouldn't trade any prospects. His promises are garbage, as far as this team is concerned. What i would expect, if he did, was fair value in return. Another straight up Suban for Weber deal would be grounds for a full out fan revolt. I can see the jerseys burning in front of the Bell.

Weber + Suzuki + Dlo  for McDavid?    Done!

I don't want to see Suzuki traded but , is he already projected to be a superstar? There is no guarantee he'll be a top six in the NHL. I like what I've seen but Junior hockey is hmm Junior hockey. There have been a lot of projected greats out of juniors that don't even make it or aren't top six in the NHL.  Armia and others tore it up in the minors? I'm actually looking positive towards his future but I haven't been blown away yet. So far I like Poeling much better and he has been playing against men or at least others 18 to 24-25. I know everyone freaks out if something happens that us the fans weren't made aware of ahead of time. Guess what that is every team in all professional sports. Football actually reports the actually injuries but that is because of the betting that is going on, the NFL didn't always. Anyway it's a business teams have no obligation to tell the fans if a player will or won't be traded at any given time. Does anyone remember the Gretzky trade?

For sure he's just a prospect but by all accounts he's a blue chip one.

The general consensus is that if there's one thing that will make a junior player into a (nearly) surefire NHL player it is Hockey IQ and Suzuki's is very very high. You can see him make plays that most juniors dont even consider.  He's a very very smart player.

Skills like skating, passing, shooting - can all be worked on to an extent (although some cannot be overcome, just ask McCarron) but Suzuki has exellent passing skills, a great shot and is a good skater (still working on that). He also has a very mature defensive game for a player his age and stage.

So while i dont think its a sure thing he becomes a 1st line player, I do think its nearly a lock he's a top 9.   Maybe he's only a 2nd liner or even, at worse, a top end 3rd liner but all are valuable.  The trade proposal by me was, of course, a joke though. No way Im giving up Deslauriers for a bum like McDavid.

He's got 20pts in his last 6 games ....

went from #30 in OHL to #11

Yeah after a crazy start (like 8 points in 3 games) after the trade he really cooled won with his new team.  Looks like he's starting to find his game again. This is not uncommon for young players in new scenarios/teams/cities.

Still really excited to see if he can make the team next year. He's got mad skills and vision thats for sure.
