I like that whole “right to swap picks” angle. That’d be cool to see more often!

Right, we will give you so and so if you give us the right to take your pick in 2020 if it ends up higher than ours. LMAO how do you even justify that in the lottery era? You trade say Lehkonen + a second to Ottawa for the right to swap picks this year and they win the lottery then the Habs get the #1 pick. That is sort of what Montreal did when the traded for Colorado's first rounder 4 years early they totally won that one.

So those of us who thought Price retrieved the game puck for Primeau's 1st win,,,, wrong. Brady the brat got it and tossed it to a fan. Supposedly he told Primeau earlier that he was going to do it. Class act all the way.

The story I read said Price cut him off before he got to the bench with the puck. That Tkachuk said he was going to give it to a fan.

This was the story from TSN. Didn't specify if he was successful or not.

1. Brady Tkachuk, puck thief

Chris Pronger had a nice chuckle when he saw Ottawa Senators pest Brady Tkachuk scoop up the game puck seconds after Cayden Primeau picked up his first NHL win on Wednesday night for the Montreal Canadiens.

Tkachuk told reporters that he was simply grabbing the puck to give to a young fan.

“Hey, maybe Brady's just trying to be a good NHL player cultivating fans in the community,” Pronger said with his usual dose of sarcasm on Friday. “It’s nice to see there’s some passion is still in the game, that there are players still trying to get under the opposition’s skin in the NHL.”

Primeau said Friday that Tkachuk messaged him before the game and told him that he was going to take the puck.

“Nothing can surprise you with Brady,” Primeau told reporters. “When people don’t like him that’s what he’s supposed to do.”

Keith Kinkaid has played so poorly that not only did he get cut in favor of a rookie, he also can't get into a game in the AHL ahead of Charlie Lindgren. Supposedly, Bouchard is highly contemplating playing Lindgren for a 3rd game in a row and for the 2nd game in 24 hours, without playing Kinkaid.

This won't happen as Primeau was just sent down and Lindgren was called up. Wonder if there is a trade in the works so they are showcasing our goalie prospects.

I think it's unfortunate what happened to Kinkaid ...Price's numbers were atrocious as well in the beginning  because of the defence ...I don't think he's a poor goalie but one who might have lost some confidence ...I hope he gets some starts and proves himself again

Doubt it but maybe if it was Hall extended at 8.75 x 5 plus Green or Smith or for Mete, Primeau, Alzner, Brook and a 2nd

there you go trying to get Alzner thrown in the deal …..how about same deal but  Montreal pays $ 2 mill of his salary till the end of the contract ...lol

Not if your sending 2 potential top 4 dmen, a starting goalie who seems NHL ready already and a 2nd NJ can take Alzner back

Speculation is that they have so little faith in Kinkaide right now they are basically bringing up Lindgren to have a rest (as backup) and this is more about sending Primeau down to play the next game rather than give it to Kinkaide (or play lindgren a 3rd game in such a short amount of time).  Yikes.

Yeah, except that cliff happened before Bergevin signed him. He had an .891 save percentage in 41 games with NJ last year, so this really shouldn't have come as a surprise to anyone. Sure there was hope he would bounce back, but in a year where there were several strong back-up goalies available, Bergevin chose one of the worst options out there and gave him a decently sized contract for a back-up, so it's totally on MB for making a bad move. And when you look at his history, you have Streit, Plekanec, Murray, Alzner, and so on... there's a pattern of MB completely misjudging players based on past performance and not what they were likely to be going forward.

yeah he had an .891 sv % on a crappy defensive team that was 31-41 ..the year before he was 26-10 , 2.77 GAA and a .913 s% on a team with 97 points ...I don't think it was that much of a stretch since all the other years not mentioned he was a decent back-up with decent numbers  . Hindsight is 20/20 and who's to say anybody else Bergevin got as a back-up would have fared better given the poor defensive play while he was here .
