NHL SEASON SUSPENDED: Coronavirus and the NHL

San Jose declaring a ban on any events of 1000 people or more for the balance of March and it includes the Sharks. We (the Habs) are their next scheduled home game. Looks like we could be playing in an empty building

Wild.

That will be a very weird game to watch on TV.

Might be the first of many. Apparently arenas are breeding grounds because of projectile spray from an infected person yelling

The highest German pro league (DEL) just ceased operations for the remainder of the season. There will be no playoffs and no Cup winner in 2020. It‘s crazy over here...

The way they've been playing lately  I'd probably reconsider regardless.

I always buy mine when it's on sale, I stock up and I still have enough for about 2 mons.  :)

If there's no TP at the store, you can always use Kleenex.

I have been keeplng up on all of this, and the one thing that keeps coming back to my mind was the 1918-1919 Stanley Cup Finals between the Canadiens and the Seattle Metropolitans. The series came down to the final game (Game 6) when most of the Canadiens players got ill with the Spanish flu that was going around right after World War 1. This was an epidemic of massive proportions. At any rate, most of the Habs got sick, and "Bad" Joe Hall died. The series was ended in the classic "no winner" finals.

Hah!

What gets me the most about this whole thing is: why toilet paper?  I mean, even if the worst of worst-case scenarios comes to pass and you can't leave your house, there's still a couple of dozen other things that you won't be able to get (food, water, propane, diapers, soap, toothpaste, medicine, etc.).  Why is everyone's #1 concern in all of this to stock up on mounds of toilet paper?  Sure I can't eat, drink or bathe, but at least my butt will feel great!

I feel like this is going to be happening all over very soon.  Rogers Hometown hockey just annouced they are shutting down the program - the last 3 events have been cancelled.

i think the thing is that now that some people are hoarding it, others are like "crap (no pun intended) there wont be any because all these crazy people are hoarding the TP" so they buy a bunch.

vicious circle.
