I saw on another site a post suggesting that the Habs should trade Domi + 2020 1st (lottery protected) + 2020 3rd (Montreal) for Jonny Gaudreau. Was wondering how everyone here would feel if this trade happened both if we win the Play in or if we lost.

My vote is as long as the 1st is lottery protected why not! We then line up

Gaudreau-Kotkaniemi-Gallagher

Drouin-Suzuki-Tatar

Lehkonen-Danault-Armia

Poehling-Evans-Byron

Chiarot-Weber

Mete-Petry

Romanov-Juulsen

Price

Elliot (signed 1 year x 1.5 Mil.)

Big no for me.

Im not opposed to trading Domi but Im not trading him + our first rounder (unless we go deep &  it ends up being 30th) for anything less than a #1 LHD.

Gaudreau is good - very good - would  easily be our most talented forward but he would get ridden hard by Julien. Ive watched him a lot over the years out here and he's not a very good defender. He's also tiny - like 5'9 or something - which is offset in calgary but here would be yet another smallish forward. I know Domi's no giant but he's solid - probably 30lbs heavier than Johnny Hockey.  He's also almost 2 years older than Domi which is something to consider at least (he's still relatively young though).

I know it seems odd since we're talking about a guy who nearly broke 100 points a year ago but I dont think he'd be a great fit on our team & im certainly not trading away a package that could likely get us a true #1LD and solve a lot more problems than JG ever could.

Just my 2¢ though.

Domi bring a little much needed grit to our line up.  Gaudreau plays too soft of game, not sure he is worth Domi and 1st and third

Hard No here too. I'm in Calgary and there's a lot of people here turning on him for playing too soft and carefree. His heart has always been in the upper NW and will be there in 2 years when his contract expires

No I don't know if I would even up. They are both small but Domi plays with a lot jam which the team needs.
