Live by the sword, die by the sword. MB has a really tough time admitting to a mistake by demoting them. That's why he's hung up on keeping Staal in the lineup. Doesn't want to face the heat about giving up those draft picks. Look how long it took him to admit Alzner was a huge blunder.

Don't expect any radical roster moves as long as he's GM. Price, Weber, Chiarot/Edmundson  and the others are here to stay as long as he's in charge. He's made some nice deals while here, but it's his hard headed attitude towards some of his blunders that have hurt this team for close to a decade now.

Don't forget how long he hung on to Therrien and Lefebvre.

Gally is skating again.

Good sign although as we saw when he came back from the broken hand last time, if he's not 100% with his grip, his effectiveness is hugely impacted. He needs to be able to go to the dirty areas, be chippy, etc.    Hopefully he's ok and he can help us soon. We need him for sure.

Drouin taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team, placed on LTIR. Citing personal reasons. Hope he gets well and everything is ok, fans may not like his effort level most of the time but he is still an important part of the team.

I hope it's not too serious and he can be back for the playoffs cause we need him

He takes a lot of heat from fans and media but that all takes a backseat to ones well being and personal life. Wishing him well.

Drouin on LTIR leaves $5.82M of $9.25M available, which enables flexibility to keep Caufield and Evans on the active roster. @TSN_Edge

Ducharme did have an update on goalie Carey Price, who has missed the last four games with a concussion.

“He’s doing better,” the coach said. “He had a test today so we’ll know a little bit more. There was some good news to get yesterday. It’s always tricky (with concussions), but he’s heading in the right direction.”

Ducharme said that Brendan Gallagher, who has been sidelined since suffering a fractured thumb in a 3-2 overtime win over the Edmonton Oilers on April 5, has started skating again and that the cast has been taken off his right hand.

“He’s doing good, but I don’t think it changes anything on his timeline to come back playing,” Ducharme said.

Gallagher is not expected to return to the lineup before the end of the regular season.

That was the original forecast,,,, since then our season was extended a week because of all the covid adjustments. Maybe he squeaks in a couple games before season end

Montreal Canadiens forward Tomas Tatar is out and will miss at least one game due to injury. He did not warm up or skate in the team’s recent game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Wonder what's going on.  I know LBI.

Maybe MB is resting all these guys for the playoffs

Well he's screwed up our cap situation so maybe this is the only loophole left for him to exploit.

According to Montreal Canadiens head coach Dominique Ducharme, Carey Price's most recent concussion test results were encouraging and the goalie resumed off-ice exercise today, adding that if his recovery continues to track upward, Price might be back on the ice in the next few days.

Was just looking at the value of the contracts Placed on the IR. With Armia added we currently have 38.4 Mil on the IR. That is nearly half our allowable cap space. Why the hell couldn't these happen before the deadline? We could have added some serious help then lol. Seriously though with all our injuries to key players, it's a miracle we were able to pull off a seriously gutsy win.

Yeah,,,, think of how many more Staal's, and number of 5th to 7th defensemen MB could have added. :lol:

Is Armia officially out ? ....certainly looks like it might be concussion protocol ....again ...tough season for him.....the hit didn't  seem that bad along the boards which is even more concerning ...every time  he starts to get going he gets hurt ....we need his big body
