Looks like the magic is truly over. But hey, at least the Habs won three series.  If the Hockey Gods told you before the playoffs started that the Habs would be the losing Stanley Cup finalist, would you have taken it?

No. Great run, but I'm in it to win it. You don't celebrate finishing runner up and no one keeps a list of all the great 2nd place winners.

Somebody may have to Kreider Vaseline.

I vote for Merrill. It will help us to get rid of Vasilevskiy and it'll doubly help us to get rid of Merrill.

So can we go back to fire MB and DD??? :5141:

Nope.  Have to honour the bargain with the Devil for this playoff Cinderella run.

Have to wonder whether MB & DD continue to stick to this style of trap hockey in the new season and keeps refining it into an art to reduce mistakes.

They played well in Game 2. I'm not as concerned about the system as I am about the personnel decisions. This team can't score. it had two goals in two games, and one of your top scorers in Tatar has been benched for a dozen games. Merrill continues to play despite sucking big time. The team is scared to play anyone outside their top 4 D men. They continue to play Byron despite playing poorly most nights. They continue to use Weber on the PP, even that 4 on 3 the other night while CC sat on the bench. Just some really poor personnel decisions and no willingness to adjust to the other team's style or lineup. The coaches seem to think that this line-up has done well against Winnipeg and so we just stick it out with them forever.
