Yes. This was completely related to a post about a non-habs player.  This is the correct thread.  Yes. It starts to drift off on a tangent but ultimately thats what message boards are about.  There's always going to be some overlap.  This is not like the other times when it was unrelated & someone went off on a diatribe. I understand its difficult to see the differences some times in these instances.

and I hope your Dad is doing well man ..I thought the discussion was a healthy one to have regardless

So lets see:

- accused and investigated on betting on NHL games that he was involved in!
- sued by casino in vegas for walking out on a 500k debt
- 4 counts criminal trespassing
- at least 2 different woman have sued him for assault
- chapter 7 bankruptcy (apparently 21m in debt despite having amassed $56m over his career, according to capfriendly)
- under investigation for faking a vaccine passport

Dude seriously needs some help.

The Los Angeles Kings have announced that forward Quinton Byfield has a left-ankle fracture and will be out indefinitely. This is awful news for both the 19-year-old forward and the Kings.  Byfield was injured in the Kings' preseason tilt against the Arizona Coyotes when he fell into the boards awkwardly.  Byfield was expected to make Los Angeles' roster for the start of the regular season, but now that sadly cannot occur. He will be replaced by Danault. He played six games with the NHL squad last season and had an assist.

New York Rangers forward Ryan Reaves got tangled up with New Jersey Devils defenseman PK Subban and let's just say it looked nasty.  Reaves had his leg get caught behind him and it looked like a severe ankle sprain. Pansy. These types of injuries can take anywhere from to one-to-two months to heal. This really sucks for the Rangers and for fans across the NHL for that matter as next week was supposed to be the long-awaited rematch between the Rangers and Tom Wilson and the Washington Capitals.  We can thank this ugly play for making us wait longer. Looks like someone else is going to have to step up and get some revenge on Wilson.

The Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers don't like each other and during their preseason game of all places, it showed. It was a parade to the penalty box which included a goalie getting body checked and a line brawl breaking out.  Sam Bennett of the Panthers got it all started when he girly checked Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy behind the net and for obvious reasons the Lightning took exception to it. That was just the beginning as the craziness continued.  Panthers forward Noel Acciari ended up injuring his shoulder pretty bad in one of the scrums.

Now that's what I'm talking about!  Lots of emotion in this preseason game.

The Toronto Maple Leafs hosted the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night as the NHL's preseason schedule kicked off. Unfortunately for Maple Leafs netminder Ian Scott, the night didn't finish like he wanted. Scott came into the game in relief and it was short lived as he had to leave the game after injuring his groin.  Scott is a former fourth round selection of the Maple Leafs who only appeared in six professional games last season. He's battled a number of injuries and unfortunately a bunch of bad luck. The 22-year-old is expected to miss 'some time' which is likely around the two month mark. He was slated to battled for ice-time with the Toronto Marlies with Michael Hutchinson and Joseph Woll.

Ottawa Senators forward Colin White injured himself in a collision with David Kampf. White would leave the ice in clear pain and did not return.  Colin White got up slowly from a collision, right arm draping to the side and has headed to the locker room.  Coach DJ Smith said Colin White was going for an MRI but conceded he will be out awhile.

Jack Johnson has spent the preseason on a professional tryout contract with the Colorado Avalanche. Now, the 34-year-old defenseman is going to sign a one-year deal with the team either today or tomorrow, according to Adrian Dater.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed defenseman Matt Bartkowski to an AHL contract. The 33-year-old signed a professional tryout contract with the Penguins before training camp. Therefore, it's clear that he's impressed them enough to earn a deal for the year.

According to Larry Brooks, the New York Rangers may look to move Libor Hajek before the start of the regular season. Due to the Rangers' depth on defense, the 23-year-old might not make the team. If they opt to send him to the Hartford Wolf Pack, he would need to go through waivers and another team would likely claim him immediately.  Unfortunately, he's a lefty.
