Spezza knees a guy in the head  ( looks deliberate , check the video ) and he's deemed a hero.

It looks like Sunday night’s action in Winnipeg could result in some suspensions.

The NHL’s Department of Player Safety announced that Neal Pionk will have a hearing for kneeing Toronto Maple Leafs defender Rasmus Sandin while Jason Spezza will have an in-person hearing for kneeing Pionk.

Pionk drilled Sandin with an open-ice knee in the third period…

I have zero skin in this but falling in front of guy skating towards him and he gets blown up by a knee what was Spezza supposed to jump over him?

So, again, it's looking more and more like the players are doing their own vigilante justice. And, it's understandable why.  The refereeing has been beyond horrible. What Pionk did to Sandin was very intentional.  I'm just surprised that it was Spezza that retaliated, although, I would have done the same thing.  Until Bettman cleans up the officiating, this will continue to happen. Mild mannered, Lady Byng type players have had enough. I'm not saying McDavid is one, but he's starting to fight back, as well. It all boils down to the players not having any respect for each other.

Winnipeg’s Neal Pionk has been suspended for two games for Kneeing Toronto’s Rasmus Sandin.

That's it, 2 games! Pionk could have ended Sandin's season.  That's another reason why the players are taking things into their own hands, or, their own knees.

In his first 15 games this season, Connor McDavid drew five penalties, 54th in the league. Then an issue was made of it and in the eight games since, he's drawn 10 penalties and is third in the league. Don't tell me that NHL officials don't manage games. from Ken Campbell.

A good observation.

Pionk got two games and Spezza may be suspended at least five games because he was given the option of an in person hearing.

Even worse was Simmonds cross checking everything in sight and only getting a fine - someone needs to lay “wiener” out!

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Wayne Simmonds has been slapped with a fine for a cross-check he applied to Winnipeg Jets forward Jansen Harkins on Sunday night.  The NHL's department of player safety docked Simmonds $2,250, the maximum allowable under the league's collective bargaining agreement, for laying his stick into the back of Harkins during the third period of Winnipeg's 6-3 win over visiting Toronto.

Chicago Blackhawks forward Jujhar Khaira needed to be stretchered off in Tuesday’s game against the New York Rangers. Jacob Trouba delivered a hit to Khaira, who had his head down skating out of the zone. He had no way to protect himself and also hit his head on the ice coming down. This is the third time a hit has caused him to go unconscious, which is extremely scary news for him. The entire hockey community wishes a safe and speedy recovery for Khaira.

Two Goals by AM last night and he is the favorite to win the Rocket Richard trophy .

The suspension handed down to Spezza was shocking.  Questioning why Pionk wasnt suspnded further for injuring Sandin  .

May be time to start listen ing to talk radio

It was reported by Katie Strang of The Athletic, that if the Arizona Coyotes team doesn’t pay money owed including back taxes by December 20th, the City of Glendale will lock the team out. The city has revoked the Arizona Coyotes business license due to unpaid taxes. That is causing the Arizona Coyotes financial issues to be quite immediate.
