After that slow start, now (after first period of game 13) just below a PPG.

Unfortunately for a team who's strength is supposed to be its depth, it seems the team is unable to score unless he's on the ice (I think it's been like 4 games or something since a goal without Suzuki having a goal or assist).

Overall feeling great about that extension though.

Yeah, he is back on track after the slow start. Gonna be a good player for us for many years!

Yep he like most of the rest of the players from last year took a minute to get going, at least he has kicked back into it almost a PPG player right now.

Indeed. I think the contract he signed is going to work out really nice for all parties. We'll have a really good player for eight more years!

And he wasn’t even the player MB really wanted in the trade ( so they say. )

C'est possible. I assume most trades kind of go down in that manner, though.

"Can I have player A?"
"No!"
"What can I have if I trade you player B?"
"You can have a draft pick and one of player C, D, or E."
"Okay, gimme player  D."

Agreed, I was happy they went the long haul with his contract.

he's already pretty much earning his pay, and we have 8 years for it to get better. AMAZING contract

Yep it took a while to get that position sorted but this guy just has it! he is so smart on the ice you can see he really understands the game and how it is unfolding. locking him up was critical! we get his best years at a good price.

It's nice to feel like we have one of our top-two center positions taken care of for the next eight seasons after this one.

It would be nice to still have JK mind you there's nothing guaranteed there either - he's at 3 points in his first 11 games as a cane, on their stacked team.

I dont think Dvorak, Evans or Poehling are the answers but maybe we'll make a trade or a guy like Mysak or Kidney will make some huge jump...

....that said, if we manage to get 1st overall and draft Shayne Wright, look out.

Still young yet, I'm willing to give him some time.

Absolutely! He's still a great talent, and one of my favourite players. I want to see him do well.  Just unfortunate he's mired in this tire fire. Still, he needs to be diligent. Can't be giving up on plays. Rangers gave him a few cheap shots tonight. Actually, a few Habs received cheap shots from the Rangers, with no call.
