I like Classic Rock almost exclusivly. I like to throw in a bit of Folk music but in general just Classic Rock, which included Glam Rock form the 80's.

Band: This is very, very tough. Toss up between Rush, The Tragically Hip, BTO, Supertramp, the Beatles, and Journey.

Song: This is even harder. Johnny B. Goode by Chuck Berry (Although George Thorogood recorded my favourite version), More than a Feeling by Boston, New Orleans is Sinking by the Tragically Hip, Takin' Care of Buisness by BTO, Cygnus X-1 Book II by Rush, Fool's Overture and Goodbye Stranger by Supertramp, Don't Stop Believing and Lights by Journey, and almost every song the Beatles ever made. Barrett's Privateers by Stan Rogers also deserves mention.

PUNK ROCK !!!!!!!!!!!!![/quote:1061774ea8]

If at gunpoint, I'd probably shout this as well. But I've got a rather broad taste when it comes to music, so it's impossible to choose one genre or artist.

My favourite band, though, are the Talking Heads. Byrne is god in Stop Making Sense.

And fav song this year is Graffiti by Maximo Park.

I'm into Hard Rock and some metal.

I really don't see how anyone could like rap, its just so stupid.

I think punk rock bands are fake

Everytime I hear a pop song, I die a little inside.

I'm pretty picky :D

Rock - always been a fan of The Who , jethro Tull, Aerosmith ( old stuff not the new crap ) , Deep Purple, Sabbath, Priest, Zappa then as I aged started to really like Pink Floyd .

Now I'll litsen to almost anything : Green Day, some RHCP,

As for Canadian Bands : David Wilcox , April Wine , Spirit of The West, Goddo, Rush

( 1st 3 albums - then they started playing that space stuff  ) , Great Big Sea

Quadrophenia by The Who is probably my favorite album

Not all of it. Don't judge a genre by what's played on the TV / mainstream radio.

theres a lot of different kinds of rap. for instance...Kanye West has a kind of rap I like (I dont listen to the words themselves much cuz I find them welll.... not nice  not at all times ...just a few lyrics.) like his songs Golddigger, Through the wire, her mama, diamonds are forever, and Jesus walks. Its rap but with vocals also...(I dont know if you understand what I mean) but I like most anything...depends on the songs tho, but I do have a preference for R&B, pop and Hip Hop

For me, there's ore band that really stood out in the late 60s and early and mid-70s, and they are still around.

There was nothing like the original Chicago lineup, with Robert Lamm, Peter Cetera, Terry Kath, Danny Seraphine, James Pankow, Lee Loughnane, and Walter Parazaider.

Their first seven albums are unlike anything ever made by a US-based band, and their fifth album, Chicago V, was unlike anything ever made. Saturday In The Park is my all-time favorite song by anyone.ChicagoVa.jpg

The current Chicago lineup isn't too shabby, either.

Forgot about them, they have one song that really does it for me. I just can't remember the title. I'll have to look into it. Thanks for bringing it back to me. Some bands I don't really care for pull a song out of nowhere and you just have to hand it to them. It's the same with Sting and Bring on the night, that is one nice jam session.

Personnaly I like just about everything except what I consider crap like Céline, Garou, Marriah, Coldplay..... Music engineered for the top 40

You're missing a few categories like Jazz, World music, Punck rock, Metal.....
