welcome. your 'gumperisms' are priceless. this one's my favourite (the rangers give me a lot of trouble too :P ):

Early in his career with the Rangers, when he was regularly facing 40–50 shots a night, he was asked; "Which team gives you the most trouble?" Gumper's reply - "The New York Rangers."

You gotta be as old as me to remember Gump Worsley.

It just occurred to me that I've failed to introduce myself.

Well, I'm a Habs fan in Montreal (duh, anyone?) I moved to Montreal from Europe about eight years ago and only got into hockey about a year and a half ago. As a great supporter of football (Soccer in N. America) I've felt out of place in finding a sport locally that is totally team oriented and isn't whistled off every twenty seconds, Then I saw my first Habs game and I was totally into it. It's like extremely fast football (grr.. soccer) with a lot of physical play to it and less players. I love it.

Living in Montreal and following the unwritten rules of football (damnit.. do I need to say that word? *refuses*) from where I'm from, you support your local team, win or loose you cheer for them and do your part in making sure their opponents feel the local cheers when they visit the home field.

Hope that's enough of an introduction.

~Nif

[Edited for the most obvious spelling errors.. the ones I can't spot, oh well ;) ]

Last Words: Go Habs Go!!!

I been a Habs fan all my life if for no other reason than my dad listening to the games all the time when I was growing up.I became a true-blue fan in 1993 when I saw them win the cup with a 12$ standup ticket.I been collecting Habs/NHL related stuff since 1990 from t-shirts to cards to autographs to anything and everything and spent a reasonable amount of $$ over the years. This year I changed my collecting habits, I wanted to do something special and different for the 100th so I decided to collect souvenirs instead of material stuff. I bought a crap load of tickets(38 for 12 games) and decided to share my passion for the Habs with family, friends and loved ones + a few strangers.

I love this forum thingie although I can't seem to stay in one forum and get something coherant going so far but that's all good :) it's great to have a place filled with fanatic fans like myself :)

i'm still a Sabres fan, my boys in the blue and gold are #1

i can speak French semi- well...took 5 years of it in school

my favorite Hab is Carey Price.

or Guy Carbonneau, if we can count him.

Greetings fellow hab fans.

I`ve been a member for a month now, username is Forever Habs #10.

I am 44 yrs, life long habs fan from Saint-John, N.B.

The #10 is for my childhood to present day hab legend GUY LAFLEUR,

whom i had the privlage to meet, having my #10 habs jersey autographed

by guy in person.

I am impressed with the leadership that BOB GAINEY & company have shown,

i like the direction that the canadiens are going,......GO HABS GO.

Hey there, just wanted to say after being a member here in this forum,it's been awesome.

To be able to talk hockey talk & about our habs on any given occasion,to hear others express their opinions, their views,to agree or disagree, this is the best .

I've come to appricate this forum,i have come to learn so much more about my habs in general.

The mods do a great job here by the way.Good stuff.

Love the game day segment especially.

So,thanks for letting me enjoy such a great forum ,keep up the great job.
