Habs Fans Introduce Yourselves

You guys think you have it hard in Montreal dealing with leaf fans out there? Try dealing with Vancouver fans. :)

I live near Toronto, and Leafs fans can be quite ridiculous...when I went to the Dec 26 game against Montreal, the Leaf fan and his girlfriend (who sat beside me) were making rude comments to me and about me because I was there for Montreal. And I never once said anything rude back to them! I never even booed Toronto during the game.

Hi! I'm a newbie on the board, but a habs fan for almost 52 years!

My favourite player is Cammalleri.

I'm a transplant from the eastern townships currently living in Mississauga (since 81).

Best wishes to le Gros Bill. Jean was my favourite player as a youngster and I hope he makes a full recovery.

Go Habs Go! :D

Username: Feels A Little Like 93

Real Name: Chris

Live: Ottawa

Born: Ottawa

Age: 31

Favourite Current Hab: Markov (Heart of a Lion)

Favourite All time Hab: So many to pick from......Naslund, Koivu, Roy, BELIVEAU

I was one of the smart ones who decided not to bail out when the Sens came to town and I have been ridiculed every day since then. How many cups has Ottawa won since they returned??? Oh Yeah, ZERO, so Shut Up until they do something:P

Anyway, I like what Gainey has done, the Gomez contract is a bit big for my liking but I understand why he did it and it looks like Gomer is playing better with his new line mates so I am happy.

GO HABS!!!

I was at the ACC back in 2008 for the Hall of Fame game. I was cheering every bone crushing hit by Homosarek (that's his new name) on the Toronto players. I was standing up and singing the OLE OLE OLE OLE song with all of the other Habs fans and had a ball and not once did I get bothered by a Leafs fan. I was wearing my red jersey and my wife had her white one. Maybe the couple sitting next to you were the same ones I drove nuts all night by standing up for the 24 time Stanley Cup Champions and constantly reminding them of our teams past successes! Unfortunately, we lossed that night. :{

P.S. I'm probably one of the only if not the only person to ever go into the Leafs dressing room after a Habs/Leafs game with a Habs jersey on and live to tell about it! lol Thank you Brian Savage for making that happen for me! ;)

Forgot Favorite Habs Memory....Probably Desjardins scoring the hat trick winner against the Kings in 93!! The sound bite alone gives me chills.

Hey, my name is roy_133, I signed up several years ago but only began posting tonight. Look forward to discussing the Habs with you all.

On behalf of the moderating staff, I'd like to welcome you to the forum.

You better start posting though, only two posts in over 5 years gets you an automatic ban.

One more thing, read the code of conduct so you don't get yourself in trouble.

As a long-time reader I've finally decided to join the fray. I saw my first game way back in '56 at The Forum against the Bruins. I was 5 years old. And I'm guessing that this introduction to all things Hab-related must have spoiled me. That year Beliveau won the Hart and Ross trophies, Harvey the Norris and Plante the Vezina. All made the 1st All-Star team along with the Rocket. Tom Johnson and Bert Olmstead were on the 2nd team. Stanley Cup in 5 games. Welcome to the good times. The team was so strong, I believe the following year they ammended the power play rule to curb Hab's scoring. After that year the penalized player came back on the ice after a goal was scored. I don't want to give the impression that I'm locked in the past as I remain passionate about the team and its prospects. When the Gainey regime began I was hopeful of a return to past glory and although in retrospect it seems to have been more a period of "treading water" than I had wished for, I'm hopeful that better times lie ahead and that the passing of the torch yields positive results. I'd like to give kudos to D'Arcy Jenish's "The Montreal Canadiens - 100 years of Glory" for bringing back so many fond memories.

GO HABS!

Hello, as in the French section of the board, I've just discovered this thread here.

Time to present myself:

Name: André (official christian name on my ID) or Änder in Luxembourgish

Date of birth: November 26th 1977

Hometown: Howald, little town just south of the city of Luxembourg, capital of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg

Height: 1,80 m (should be a bit more than 6 foot)

Nationality: Luxembourgish

Spoken languages: Luxembourgish, French, German, English and a bit of Italian

Why am I here? Well, after football (game most of you guys call soccer) I like ice hockey the most.

Why the Habs? Since I play hockey as video game (1993/1994) I prefer the Canadiens, mainly because I always wished to visit Montréal. Dream which came true in 1999. Unfortunately I have been in Montréal during summer, so no matches of the Canadiens in the Centre Molson, but I immediately bought a jersey. ;)

The all time Montréal player I like most: Patrick Roy, what a goalie!!!

The actual Montréal player I like most: Michael Cammalleri (because he is my best player in my PS3 NHL 10 season), it could be that my opinion changes when I am finally going to see matches of the Habs on the telly in two weeks time. :D

Username: Turkbacca (My nickname is Turk and I quite like Chewbacca,

also it's my XBOX/PS3 ID)

Real Name: Paul English

Live: Sunderland, England

Born: Newcastle, England

Age: 27

Favourite Current Hab: I'm only a recent hockey convert so I have no

idea who anyone is to have a fave!

All time Hab: As above

Hey everyone, as the above states I am an absolute hockey novice. I've

always been interested in it but given I live in England it's not a

readily accessible sport. Managed to grab a copy of NHL 10 on my XBOX

and realised I did really love it, the reason I picked Habs is pretty

geeky - they drafted me on my first game (I was pretty happy a Canadian team picked me though given it's been one of my dream destinations since I was young). Since then I've managed to

catch a few games; The wins against the Bruins and Oilers and they further reinforced my

love of the game.

So I hope to get to know you guys, the history of the team and more

basics of hockey (apologies in advance for any stupid questions I may

ask).

Go Habs !!
