Habs Fans Introduce Yourselves

Username: Turkbacca (My nickname is Turk and I quite like Chewbacca,

also it's my XBOX/PS3 ID)

Real Name: Paul English

Live: Sunderland, England

Born: Newcastle, England

Age: 27

Favourite Current Hab: I'm only a recent hockey convert so I have no

idea who anyone is to have a fave!

All time Hab: As above

Hey everyone, as the above states I am an absolute hockey novice. I've

always been interested in it but given I live in England it's not a

readily accessible sport. Managed to grab a copy of NHL 10 on my XBOX

and realised I did really love it, the reason I picked Habs is pretty

geeky - they drafted me on my first game (I was pretty happy a Canadian team picked me though given it's been one of my dream destinations since I was young). Since then I've managed to

catch a few games; The wins against the Bruins and Oilers and they further reinforced my

love of the game.

So I hope to get to know you guys, the history of the team and more

basics of hockey (apologies in advance for any stupid questions I may

ask).

Go Habs !!

Welcome

Hockey is a great sport

and the habs are the history of this sport

you picked the right team ;)

and if you need any help just ask

Hello, I'm Habs AK46 and I have a problem.

My addiction began in the glorious season of 2001-2002. That was the year I began to play hockey and fell in love with the Canadiens - and with every passing year since, my passion grows as I learn more and more about the best game on Earth.

Like many other Habs fans, I grew up dreaming to play for Le Tricolore. Now I'm an 18 year-old college student in a Media program and I know it will never happen, but who knows! Maybe someday, I could be involved more closely with the organization I love through journalism. If I do, I promise I won't be like the rest of the Montreal media!

I'm very active on many hockey forums, including my own, so I'll most likely be getting to know you all better.

See you around!

Tp try and keep it brief, as the name suggests I'm a Habs fan from Great Britain. I watched one game of hockey at the suggestion of a friend a few years back and was hooked. It turned out in that game, it was the Canadiens playing and I instantly adopted the team and since then I've loved learning about Hockey, NHL and the past of the Habs over the years and supporting the team through and through even when my bed is calling (When a game against some of the Western teams can start at 3am, it can get pretty rough!). I'm still finding out more about the game and club with every passing day and I keep hoping that one day I'll have the money to fly out for a couple weeks and watch the team I now love play in the flesh, rather than thousands of miles away! So I've jumped here to have some people to discuss the team with at long last! (as only one person I know in England follows NHL too and they're a Hawks fanatic) Hopefully I'll be able to have some good chatter with you folks!

I have been on this forum for a few years now and have never formally introduced myself.

My name is Curtis and I live in northern Alberta, I have been a passionate Habs fan my entire 31 years of existence.

I was old enough to remember the 86 cup and Roy's amazing playoffs as a rookie. My favorite player was Sir Patrick then until Dec 2, 1995. I hate the man now and always will for his selfish act. I read the book that his father wrote; if you want to read a book about how someone's son is the most amazing ever, then read this book...PUKE! Now, I don't think that what transpired after was very smart on the organization's part, Rejean should have tried to resolve the issue or make a trade that makes sense if you are going to trade him. Anyway, the crest on the front is what you play for, not the name on your back Sir Patrick, I don't care if you let in 9 goals, you play your heart out like you would in any other game!

Favorite all-time Hab: Maurice Richard, obviously never seen him play but "Le Rocket" is a natural selection!

Favorite Habs that I got to see play: Koivu, Kovalev, LeClair, Recchi, Muller and Roy

Favorite NHL players that never played for the Habs: Scott Stevens, Joe Sakic and Steve Yzerman

Favorite Current Hab: Michael Cammalleri, Carey Price is a close second!

Current NHLer that I wish played for the Habs: Besides the obvious selections of Sid and OV8, I pick Ryan Kessler, he is a very dynamic player with speed, size and agility. He would be a perfect center for our second line.Least favorite NHL players: Phil Kessel, Sean Avery and Matt Cooke

Favorite Habs memory: Shutting off the TV at my Dad's place with my cousin (die hard Oiler fan) when we were down 5-0 vs the Rangers, my cousin laughing and cheering for the Rags. I was losing it, I told my Dad, also a huge Habs fan, shut this off, we'll eat supper and relax. When we turned on the TV to check the score, the Habs scored within seconds, we looked at each other and said, "it's a sign, we're going to comeback!" My cousin laughed and said that we were crazy!! We watched and cheered louder and louder every time they scored. What a game, what a comeback and what a night! My cousin is still eating that huge crow!

Least Favorite Habs memory: Trading John LeClair! Trading Roy for The Tank, Rucinsky and ...some goalie!

Most hated Teams in the NHL: Obviously the TML and the Booins but besides them I hate the Oilers and Flames, especially the Flames!

Next up: Would love to make a trip to Montreal for a few games next spring! Especially if this team is really clicking and our D prospects make the jump. I am very excited for PK Subban, I think that he will impress and force the organization to put him on the roster.

Heeey everyone!

I've been lurking this forum for almost a year now, and decided I should sign up finally.

Real name is Justin, 22 years old.

I've always been a Habs fan as long as I can remember, but it was just over the last 3 or 4 years that I started really following the NHL and catching as many games as possible. Some of the other teams I like are Vancouver, Chicago, Pittsburgh and I don't mind Ottawa either.

Favorite Montreal player is probably Halak.. that guy is unreal. Next I would say is Cammy, I'm pretty happy to have him back finally. I'm also big fan of the Neidermayers and Toews too.

Currently I'm living in Regina, Saskatchewan (LOL redneck..) However, my girlfriend lives in Montreal, so I might end up there in the next year or so, not entirely sure whats happening there.

I'm not sure what else to say... soo

GO HABS GO!

Hi there im John from England in the UK. I have always liked Hockey but have only just started watching my local team. Iv always wanted to support a team from the greatest league in the world the NHL and knew that somewhere in my family there was a relative born in Canada ( sorry Mum and Dad divorced so its took years to catch up with 1 side of the family to find out any info ). Anyway since watching the Olympics and Canada taking gold it has just made my passion bigger. So i started to look up some of the teams and liked the look of the Canadiens , Maple Leafs and Canucks. Anyway iv now got the family tree sorted and found out that my Great Grandparents lived in Montreal and that my Nan was born in Montreal in 1908. So im going with my roots and supporting the Habs. I hope you dont mind a member from the UK on board. Im glad i never started supporting the Leafs lol, think my nan would turn in her grave. Anyway hope to hear from you all, all the best Johnny

normally english on the english side and french on the french side , it's original euh? ;)

Haha... yeah well, sometimes the french is going bleed in a little bit.

Luckily for me I speak english pretty well... French... not so much(which is hilarious because my GF just started speaking english like a year ago... language barrier is pretty fun to manipulate).
