grecohab
hi all, i'm a hockey fan from brisbane, australia. when i traveled to canada and scandinavia in 2009 i fell in love with the game (i already had a reasonable knowledge of it to begin with). anyway i starting really following the habs in 2009-10 season and have since got myself a jersey and scarf, and plan to fly to montreal over the course of the coming season to see a game. its tough to find anyone interested in hockey down under so hence i've joined this website to discuss habs issues with people who are more than likely a bit more in the know than myself. anyway i look forward to discussing everything to do with the canadiens with you all. Welcome aboard my friend.

CATATAFISH
Well hello there Catatafish. Welcome. Were you here before under a previous user name? There is limited conversation because there is nothing really happening right now. It will pick up soon though. Nice to have you here. Hi HRF and thank you for the welcome. Yes I was on the board until it was changed over or whatever upgraded I guess. I don't remember when the board went down but I remember being depressed at that time and I didn't want to talk for a while. I don't remember if it was around when patchs got sniped by chara or if it was at the trade deadline when montreal couldn't pull the trigger. Maybe it was during the playoffs when boston was teaching montreal why it's good to have big strong players during the post season.Regardless I was mad about something. The other problem that kept me away is how everyone on this site is always right. Arguments go on and on and knowbody wins the debate or at least knowbody realizes they have lost the debate.lol I'm speaking in general but I would just like to here habs fans say "hay your right" "that's a good point, I never thought about it like that" or "that's true I forgot about that". I mean, I'm here to learn, teach and get different perspectives. If someone proves me wrong then I'm thrilled that I learned something. But I have a lot of respect for the dedicated posters that make significant points here. Among them are. You HRF swansee colrouleblue jedimaas greekhockeycoach winnipeg jet manatee x uncivilengineer wheresthepuck habshockeynutz jennifer rocket and big ted3. I think I'm only beginning to appreciate how smart big ted3 is. He often echoes my feelings. I know I'm missing a few names here but you get the idea. We do have some members that are pretty stuck on their opinions,, right or wrong. Unfortunately, every message board will see that to a certain degree. I always try to remind myself that we are part of a very diverse community in here. We have members of various ages and hockey knowledge. I find the best approach is to make your point,,, participate in the debate it creates,, and be prepared to walk away when you know a member will argue their position till the death,, despite facts to the contrary. It's not worth the headaches. Enjoy the new forum.

grecohab
Welcome to the forum. A piece of advice. You have to create a positive approach to every debate, or different opinion, and remember every time you post, that we all (i hope) are respectively fans of the the same team. The great Montreal Canadiens. Have a nice posting year.

BigTed3
Haha, welcome back to the forum Catatafish, always looking for people with an opinion so feel free to share. I actually don't like to think of it as there being someone who's right or wrong. You can be right or wrong in recalling you led the team in scoring in 1984, but I think most of the debates here are just differences in opinion on how to run the club or in how we value certain players' skills. As long as people stay as respectful as possible and don't try to make statements that are only designed to anger others, then I have no problem with people thinking differently than I do. Many of my favorite posters often disagree with me and that's fine, and we've acquired a number of new posters in the off-season whose value I think you will come to appreciate once the season starts. The last word of advice I'll give to new posters is to keep clicking on different threads, you'll keep finding new features and posters here who will make you want to click on the "add reply" button. And yes, come the start of training camp, you'll see traffic pick up here quite a bit.
Habs_Norway
Hello. Habs fan from Norway. age 25. Been a Habsfan since i got my first Patrick Roy hockey card as a kid, from my uncle who was our national goalie. Huge fan of the American aspects of the game, unlike the uptight system we got in Norway. Here, my team is Vaalerenga from Oslo, who also got some Canadien natives, like Patrick DesRochers (ontario) and last year Serge Payer (ontario) and Pierre Dagenais (who played for the Habs in 2003-2004). Hope to see some of you this winter, when im (hopefully) going to Montreal. By the way, what is the best stream option for us overseas? NHL On Ice or ESPN ? And when is the "package" available? Couple of weeks before the season starts?

Go go go Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you'll find any Hans related topic to talk about in the various threads Regarding your immediate question, the packages for NHL Centre Ice online usually come on sale when the pre-season games start (Sept 20'ish). They usually stream some of those pre-season games for free to help sell their product.
