Welcome to the forum Hammer! :) What part of Steeltown are you from? Used to live there myself. Glad I left.

I grew up on the West Mountain, but now I live in Corktown. Shame you left it, the place is finally starting to turn a corner, what with Supercrawl, James St N and Tim Horton's Field.

I miss going to Bulldogs games - always went when the Leafs were in town. Then off to Chesters for celebration beers afterwards! ^_^ (I used to live in the boonies between Grimsby and St. Catharines - I'm in BC now.)

As Chester's. It's now over by Gore Park, and man is that place an old man bar. The Buffalo Anchor Bar or the Honest Lawyer is usually where me and the boys go pre-and-post if we do.

Hi everyone! I'm Chloe and I was born, raised, and still living in the good ole south - Atlanta, Georgia! My parents are from Montreal, so we try to come up here once a year. I guess you could say that I'm a fairly new hockey fan (I only started getting into hockey around 2008) but I've been a Habs fan from the start!

I'm actually in Montreal right now, and I'm so excited because tomorrow night, I'm going to my very first hockey game EVER!! Obviously, I can't sleep because I'm so excited (which explains this late night post). Originally, my family wasn't planning on coming to Montreal this winter, but when I saw that the Habs were gonna be playing at home during my Winter Break, I managed to convince my dad to get tickets to the game for my birthday in September! I actually cried when I got the tickets haha! So, me and my dad pretty much came all the way from Georgia just to see the game. Lol is that dedication or what?!

My very favorite player is Carey Price, and he's probably the reason why I started watching hockey (I kinda fell in love with him when I first saw him  ). And Subby comes in a very close second behind Pricey. It is probably my biggest dream ever to meet Price and Subban, and I am determined to make that happen during this little trip to Montreal! So, if ya'll have any tips to help me out with that, you're more than welcome to throw them my way LOL

Well, that's about it! Go habs go!!!!!!!

haha Well, it's been a while! And yes it was a different type of bar; we went there purely for the beer menu. It was very extensive, and was divided into sections by country; I think my fave was Belgium. And the owner really knew his stuff (perfect temp to serve each brew, proper glass, etc.). A true beer connoisseur's pub; not so much for partying or whatever. haha So yeah, old man's bar if you look at it that way, but there wasn't a beer they didn't have in their large cellar, including discontinued vintages in many cases.

After a few, we'd stumble across the street to Safin Grill for some epic chicken shawarma.

Cool. A St Kitts guy.

Welcome to the board.

Even though I was born in Chicago and live near Anaheim,I don't think any true hockey fan could ever disslike the Habs, or not be amazed at the history. I'll never forget being in Montreal and meeting and shaking hands with a GIANT, sweaty, Bob Gainey. In 1968 or 69 I lived in Tulsa Oklahoma and we housed players like Pat Quinn and Keith Acton while they were in the minors.

I played goal, played 10 or so games as a teen in Vancouver and made it to the lowest, Semi Pro level of the West Coast Hockey League. I was in my car at a red light and hit from behind at 58 mph...end of my hockey career.

So I'm a moderator on the Ducks board, but moving near Tampa, Florida this summer...so I'll get to see the Habs a little more!

Welcome to the forum. You guys have a great team that should do really well in the playoffs. I've had the pleasure of meeting Bruce Boudreau when he was with the Caps. I actually teased him about not speaking French and we had a good laugh about it. I was coaching youth hockey and Bruce's son that's a goalie played for our club. Good guy and good coach. Best of luck to your team going forward.

It's always nice to have more hockey fans here. :) Welcome! I like to stay up late to catch the west coast games, and the last few years have given me a lot of respect for the core in Anaheim. You've got a solid, fun to watch team this year. Vatanen, Rakell, and Gibson are really exciting young players that don't get talked about enough.

Hopefully Winnipeg, Calgary, and Vancouver can keep the Kings on the outside, and we'll have to start healing the friendship in June.
