Hello, my screen name is AyrHabsFan. I've been a Canadiens fan since I first knew what hockey was. I'm 46 and married into a family of Leaf fans. It makes for a lot of fun during the season especially when they play each other. Very happy about the coaching change yesterday as things will hopefully get better. Here's to a long season that goes well into Spring !

Take care !

Welcome! :)

Joined shortly after the coaching change. Been following for about a year.

Habs fan for 57 years, except for the later Pat Burns years, and this last year or so, starting with the middle of last year.

Lived for 21 years in Ontario - Mississauga (Toronto) and Ottawa, so I've seen a few live NHL games (including a neutral site game in Hamilton between Vancouver and Buffalo) with the Habs playing the Sens once. Also saw a couple of Canada Cup games here in Sydney (if you can believe that!) in 1987 - Czechoslovakia - U.S. & Finland-Sweden. Both those games were on the last day of the round robin with Canada-U.S.S.R on TV later. High Holy Days for a hokey fan!

Hello everyone! My name is John (Screen name eldag) and I have lived most of my life in western Canada. I retired last year from a career in banking and have more time now to follow my favourite team, the Habs! I have been a fan since my dad took me to my first live NHL game at the Forum when I was 10 years old, in 1963. I am definitely part of the geezer patrol here. :)

In my working life I visited Montreal many times and fell in love with the city. I have not been back for 5 years but hope to visit again soon. In the meantime, I enjoy reading the thoughts of the many excellent posters here in this community and hope that I can contribute something worthwhile to the discussion of our favourite team.

You can start by donating some cash to the Habs1952 Benevolent Fund. Everyone knows bankers have all the money!

I thought the Habs1952 Benevolent Fund was under investigation for misappropriation of funds for off-shore numbered companies.

Hello! My name is David, born in 1977 from Norway, and I've been a fan of the Habs since 1993.

Ice hockey has always been a great passion since I put skates on my feet in the early eighties. Apart from hockey, I also love my 2 kids and downhill mountain biking. In 2015, I wathced the Habs live for the first time in my life. That was in Florida, and I saw their games vs the lightning and the panthers. I still havent been in the Bell Centre, and that is one of my biggest dream to watch a game in Montreal.

It was a very good year. :)

Watching the Habs from your time zone is quite some dedication!

It is indeed. I often go to bed right after I put my kids to sleep around 20/21, and sleep for a few hours, watch the game, and sleep a bit more before I go to work :) If we are playing away vs a team on the west coast, I just put the alarm clock on right before the game starts, watch the game and go to work :)

But tonight it will be hard. 3 in the morning :o

Hello,

Sorry if this doesn't belong here as I wasn't sure where to post but I'm looking for some advice. I purchased a Canadiens Winter Classic jersey from when they played Boston and was looking to get a player name and number on it. I already have a Roy jersey from way back and a Price jersey. I was looking to get a player that would hopefully be with the team for a long period. I was debating all season about possibly getting Galchenyuk on it but not sure how he fits into the Canadiens long term plans. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Hi,,, I've been thru Ayr on my bike a few times,,, nice little town :). As for your question, last year at this time I would've said PK, but we all know how that turned out. Right now,,, I think you're safe with Carey,,, Weber, because who would take his contract (although I wouldn't have his name on my jersey),,,,,,,,Max,,,,,,,,,after that,,, the pickings get slimmer. As we've all seen through the years, nobody is untouchable.

I'm not sure anyone is definitively safe, especially not Galchenyuk. Pacioretty and Price are probably the two guys the Habs want to keep long-term, but both guys are UFA's soon, so they may decide to walk themselves. Petry is probably a guy who'll be here for a few years. Danault as well. Sergachev has good odds of being a Hab a long time, but he's just a prospect for now. Other than that, I'm not sure there's a player who's ever a safe bet. If you like Galchenyuk, go with Galchenyuk!

I'd leave it blank or put a legends name and number on it. That way you can't go wrong or be disappointed.
