Guest JL
Now that Guillaume has made the team, now that there won't be any arguments to see if he should and should not make it, now that he's signed his 3 year deal, it's time to to start fresh with him. Guest JL
Now Latendresse has his very first player thread as a member of the Montreal Canadiens. I want to go on record to say that I'm very happy for him, he's fully deserving of this opportunity and that I'm most certainly glad that the whole saga is over with and that everyone, including himself, can move on! Guest Liquid-Metal187
How is latendresse recovering from his last concussion? Seems like he bounced back pretty quickly, which is great. Im also wondering where he could possibly be paired up with? And what kind of player do we expect him to be? High scoring finnesse player or more like a steve begin type player? I have never seen him play before so I dont know.
Guest Guvnar
This is great we finally have that coveted power forward but what line does he go on you don't want him to be sitting you need him to play to develope him still so where do ya put him Johnson - Pleks - Lats ?????????? or on the fourth line?????? and does this mean that Downey is gone not that, that is bad Still lots of questions
Guest macpherson8
he is a scorer for sure, but i dont know who he will play with....

Guest thehuds
I think the best spot for Latendress is to play with Johnson and Pleks. They'll provide energy and a little offence. That line will probably be the physical line of the team. He'll still get about 14 minutes of ice time and his development will not be impeded. GIJAYNE
A well deserved spot for Guy. His talent and enthusiasm is most welcome I'm sure by the whole organisation. I look forward to seeing him in action, (I have never seen him play on TV yet ) So next Friday will be that much more exciting!
Guest natey2k4
I'd send down Murray and Downey, cause I really want to see Kostitsyn play with Latty or at least in the same team. Higgins - Koivu - Ryder Samsonov - Riberio - Kovalev Latendresse - Plekanec - Johnson Kostitsyn/Perezhogin - Bonk - Begin
jigger-1
Ok so..... The biding is open. I predict 26 goals, 34 assists for 60 points.

I would also like to see him on the power play, since he likes that spot right in front of the goalie. With his size and the new rules, it'll be hard to push him off. Johnson on one PP and Latandresse on the other...right in front of the crease!
Ghys
very happy for him and for the team the only thing i hope now is that he wont get ''killed'' by the media and those who call themselves ''fans'' if he doesnt win the calder and outscores jagr , ovechkin thornton and crosby TOGETHER i was wondering... now that he made the team , whatever happened to perezhogin ? Did Latendresse 'steal' his spot ?

I suspect he might start off with Bonk. Maybe: Johnson-Bonk-Lats? The pairing (bonk-lats) played very well in training camp... and i find it unlikely he would crack the top 4 winger spots (kovalev/samsanov/ryder/higgins) - as they all are pretty much locks - barring injuries. This is a actually really exciting because we could potentially have FOUR lines with scoring punch!! wow.
gracie12
i was wondering... now that he made the team , whatever happened to perezhogin ? Did Latendresse 'steal' his spot ? Im really wondering about ol' perezhogin. It seems Gainey has nothing but good things to say about Lats & Kostitsyn...but is very silent about Perez... There are rumors gainey is shopping him - although it seems strange as his value cant be very high if he's not even getting ice-time. Who knows. Guest KORDIC3131
The question is: Will he be the next Shayne Corson/Claude Lemieux or the next Jose Charbonneau/Terry Ryan???????????????????
Guest HabsFan042069
Congrats Lats....You worked hard and deserved to get the spot....I can hear it now Gui Gui Gui.....gonna be a deja vu feeling like Lafleur is back with us
Guest Mavrick
they havent announced yet what happens with Kostitsyn. The press release simply said that Latendresse is under contract. But there are already several players under contract that are playing in the minors. I'd wait until Kostitsyn is confirmed as being cut and Carbo says exactly "Latendresse will start on October 6th" before celebrating. As to Latendresse's future performance, I have a bad feeling. Hopefully, he'll be good.
andrewhabs
Unreal. We have no one like this kid. Big, talented and, willing to be a presence in front of the net. That's the big one for me. He'll do well this year. i'm sure he feels he has a TON to prove. Especially with the money we gave him. That's top dollar. Guest leafsreallysuck
Great to see him making the team, he definitly brings something we lack. I think I'm gonna buy a sweather, I'll just wait to see if he keeps that number. Best of luck Guillaume.

He fights, kills penalties, blocks shots, hits everything that moves, and is a sparkplug for the team. He also has blazing speed. Congratulation Gui! You earned it with hard work, keep it up! I think its unlikely he'll be going back to junior though (as that has future implications on his RFA/FA status in a few years I think?)
