dubbya
Ok and how do u justify keeping Gui on the 2nd line when hes a non-facot game in and game out?...Its not about "fantasy" lines, its about making this team better... Putting Sammy with Saks/Higgy and Ryde with Kovy/Pleks, and Steit with Johnson/Bonk and Gui with Perez/Max/Downey/Murray makes the team deeper and better... U may say Sammys play doesnt justify a move up to the 1st line but remember when Gui was put on the 1st line. Did his play justify it? Absolutely not!... Making these moves is a no risk high reward decision... So basically your reasoning is very weak I don't care where Gui goes, but Samsonov hasn't produced nearly enough this year to be place on the first line. I wouldn't care if gui got bumped, but until Sergei starts putting up numbers I don't want to see him on the top line. My only issue is that you want to put our biggest off season acquisition who has fewer points than a 19 year old rookie on the top line. Experience counts for something, but right now the numbers say we shouldn't swap those two
Patate
what are you talking about? i said i don't think it's a good idea to have two rookies on same line during a playoff run.either you need to read the posts before you reply or educate yourself about nhl hockey We're talking about a 4th line here... playing against the opponent 4th line... for about 5 - 10 minutes a game... Maybe you need to think about what's being said before replying...

Right now we have a 1st line doing nothing, a 2nd line producing only when Plekanec is playing good, a third that started to get a few goals here & there since Samsonov was put on it... so, why not ? While the effort is there, it's not like Latendresse is helping the team much at the moment anyway...

Guest js2
I'm just amazed at how good this guy is along the boards. It's at the point where no one can take the puck from him anymore and hes only 19. Just imagine what it'll be like as he gets older.
HelloJello
Yeah best part about his game, very strong in the corners and on his skates. Gave a nice pass for a really nice chance tonight aswell
Guest Habsfan_11
Talk about creating your own chances. Gui is an all-star at that. He is so strong on his skates and there are very few players on the ice that can handle him in the corners. Combine his strength with his soft hands and his remarkable vision and you get brilliant plays and scoring oppurtunities. Gui is getting better every game. He's still got a lot to refine about his game though and he should start with the backcheck.

I love having a guy with his body type and skill set on the team. His size is why he made the team over Kostitsyn. It was something we were desperately lacking , and probably need more of. Guest detritus
True, w/ the Kost bro's, Chipchura, Grabovski, Price and Lats. Our future looks solid! Wow, i would love to see a line of S. Kostisyn -Grabovski -Latendresse. Has every element, a sniper, playmaker and bruiser/digger. If Lats can keep up with those two that would be an incredible line! Guest detritus
Ah... so Gui won't learn to skate.. he'll just learn to punish the opposition into submission, so that they are so injured that even he can skate circles around them! Thus making grabs and kostitsyn look like the flash and superman!
fourtrax
Lats will never be mistaken for a fast skater, but he doesn't have to be. All he has to do is improve his skating as much as he can and most importantly, learn to read and anticipate plays, which is what's really making him look three steps behind his linemates. I found that he looked noticeably better on making that strong, "anticipated", first-step on Sunday. He was often in a good position because of the way he moved his feet. Agreed, he'll never be considered a speedster. It's the power in his strides and his momentum that will make him dangerous with that size of his. Guest JL
He looks like a 19 year old out there. Now that teams bear down for a playoffs' spot, he isn't as efficient. It will take some time for him to get to the next level and for that reason, I'm really hoping that Gainey goes out and gets another scoring winger so that Latendresse can continue his apprenticeship on the fourth line. CHice24
not impressed by this kid lately, usually have enough of him by the time the first is over. this rendezvous with dresse is over.....get him back to the 4th line because the moves and dekeing aint gonna work here on in
fourtrax
I have no idea why Lats is still on the second line. He's looking lost again, and doesn't skate fast enough to keep up with his linemates. We need to put him back on the fourth line to get his confidence back: he'll get more chances matched up against other teams' energy lines. aegrith
Why hasnt he be reunited on the Ryder and Koviu, that line produced, but i do agree, he needs to be on the forth line with Lap and Begin, we need anther scoring forwards, or ANY scorer at all

Guest TheFly
I dont know why he's still on the 2nd line...he's completly lost and NEVER PASSES!!! People say Ryder is bad Gui is just as bad. He always gets in Kovalevs way. Its sad because people praise him no matter what he does and its a shame, he's overrated and its as simple as that. I honestly dont see the difference between him and Lappiere in terms of style or skill but somehow he gets more credit. This kid needs to go back on the fourth line. Guest newton
I'd give Lats another shot with Koivu & Higgins, switch him for Ryder. He was producing on the 1st line, which is now deader than dead.
