Not the strongest game (he looked surprised when the puck would land on his stick sometimes), but he's shown some bright spots this season. And with Free Agency looming for some of our forwards, it might not have been such a bad idea to get him a year of experience; we could be a very young team next year, and every bit of experience is going to count positively.

i agree 100%

he will only get better and will consistently improve as the years pass i hope

i think he needs to sit for a couple of games.not as a punishment/benching,but to observe and rest physically and mentally.i think he has hit a wall.

i like latendresse but i agree with you here...he is not been playing that great over the past few weeks. would be good for him to get some rest

he has to play smart simple hockey here down the stretch......no doing fancy moves or trying to be a hero

You're right, I loved to see him play on the fourth line last night. If he wants to score more goal, he has to get back to the basics...which he can't do if he plays on the first line.

I think we should keep the Latendresse-Lapierre-Milroy line intact even if Higgins is injured.

i don't know -3 in the last 2 games, we seems very lost in the last 2 weeks, this a player who really depended on others. He's missing chances left and right, the game is way too fast for him. I say when he's eligible that he should play atleast a year in the Ahl to get used to some speed because the NHL is obviously too fast for him. Honestly now that Higgins might be gone i do not wanna see him on the first line, especially now that they seem to be on fire. I think that Kostitsyn should get called up to play on the second line and Milroy should be promoted because he has the same style as Higgins. Latendresse should remain on the 4th line to learn because he's been playing terrible especially in his own end.

Very tough game for Latendresse. It's to be expected though in this his first NHL season at the tender age (no pun intended) of 19... If it wasn't of all of the injuries, I'd give him a break, on game in the press box as you do see things totally differently from up there. It could be a very good learning experience for him.

Latendresse will be a healthy scratch tomorrow (Saturday).

I think that is a good decision. I like Gui., but I think he needs to sit a couple out. Or maybe I just think the others should be in the lineup....either way. It's Gui's turn in the pressbox.

He'll be healthy scratch even of those injuries. Maybe Higgins and Rivet will come back.

I hope I will see again Kostitsyn ;)

I agree, he seemed to be in a daze and not doing much. Maybe in needs to re focus. I still love the kid. He just needs experience.

Gui's only problem is he is 19 years old and is not used to a grinding 82 game schedule at this level. Although alot are seeing laziness it isn't so, they are seeing a kid who has hit a wall. A few games to recharge and work with the coaches and he'll be good as new.

I don't know what Carbo was thinking putting Lats back on the top line. He looked confused, lost, two steps behind, and very much like the player who started the season with 0 points and -6 in 15 games. Either sit the kid for a game or two, or put him on the fourth line and take some pressure off his shoulders. He simply can't keep up with his linemates right now, so he's killing the effectiveness of whichever line he's on. No discredit to Guy, he's only a kid, but he needs to play energy minutes with fourth-line guys.

Wrong excuse! Look at Jordan Staal, he's not getting any problems to get used to a 82-game schedule. He's exactly doing what Michel Therrien is asking him to do in order to play well.

I felt that Guillaume didn't do what we'd ask a power forward to do: rush to the net, screen the goaltender, wait for pucks in the slot when a teammate is controlling the play, then go hit hard when you're the guy dashing for the puck.

If you hadn't noticed Gui isn't Jordon Staal, and we cannot insulate a young player like Pittsburgh with all the fantastic talent they have.

The why was there all this hype about him at the begining of the season?

If you 19 in the nhl you better be good!! The fact remains Montreal made a huge mistake taking this kid. Now we're stuck with him in the line up for a while. I'd rather have kostitsyn Grabovski Milroy and Ferland in the line up any day. Those guys seem to have more chemistry with the team in less games.

Stop using the excuse that he's 19, if thats your excuse then he wasnt ready to make the nhl in the first place.

The hype placed on this kid was not Gui's fault. Blame Montreal fans salivating for another French Canadian saviour.

There is a big difference being ready to play in the NHL and being ready to play a good chunk of the season on the top two lines. Like many others have said this kid is good, he's young, let him develop on the fourth line where he would be much more effective.

Unbelievable how some people bash young players when they're put in pressure situations and don't respond like Patrick Roy or Guy Lafleur.
