After seeing that kovalev goal. against the wild

I really dont think Koivu gets enough credit. for how great of a player he really is.

Did u see that pass he made. It was amazing.

Think about it, Who on our team, wouldnt have taken the shot right there?

Beauty!

Yup, same goes for that pass he made to Latendresse a few games back from almost the same position.

everyone is all about the shot. We need more guys like koivu with some great vision. That one extra pass, Makes it look amazing :D

or looses the puck and gives up an odd man rush :D hehe, althought that rarely happens with koivu...

I wish he would put more pucks in the net tho... uhhg.. besides our very 1st game, he has 2 goals in 19 games.. o well, still puts up the assists

He's never been known as a goal scorer...

I have to admit, he REALLY is the most underated player in the game simply because he was injured all his life and barely had any teammates for most of the time. Your right, you see that pass? 9/10 of the players who would receive that pass take a shot, and he passes, but not a STOP pass , he never stopped the puck and THEN pass, he was passing ALL ALONG, first thought in his head was "pass to kovy to my right", this is why he makes players better.

There is no question Koivu has some extreme firepower, i mean he may not be a sniper, but with a good scorer at his side, the sky is the limit for him and his vision, he truely is dynamite in a small package, he protects the puck like a 6'4 power forward, and checks like Begin.

I dont think i need to remind anyone who questions his ability as a strong offensive threat what happened when he had Selanne at his side in Torino.

Incredible game for Koivu tonight. Slick goal too, just what we needed to get back in the game. Did a great job cycling the puck and using his linemates. 2 points is just a preview of what he did tonight.

BTW, did anyone see when he fell down trying to circle the defender and slid right into the Sabre's legs, taking him out hard? That was hilarious, but I hope he didn't hurt something!

Koivu, in my opinion, is having his best season since 1996-97 when he was leading the league in scoring before his injury! He's dominant most nights out there...

No doubt! He seems really inspired out there, always working, and even on off nights, he's always finding a way to keep the team's spirits up or give that extra little "oomph" to get something going.

Koivu has been amazing, the Captain is truely having a career season, while having to deal with a slumping sniper on his wing.

Give him Kovalev, he deserves to have a player who will compliment him as much as possible out there.

As good as he is with Kovalev, the best kind of guy he can play with out there is a guy like Higgins, a guy who isn't afraid to get dirty around the neck, a guy with break-neck speed and a guy that can pound in the odd dirty goal here and there.

I love this guy,

I serioulsy think with out him we would be lost

AKA PLAY OFFs

but that all makes sense as i mean he is our captain, any team with out there captiain would be lost right..............

Well, let's just say it's not by fluke we lost 4 straight without him against Carolina, let's just say it's not a fluke that when a young guy gets put with him, the kid's game raises to a whole new level...

This guy doesn't get nearly enough credit for what he does, imo.
