Guest ChriS_HigGinS#1
imagine koivu being traded...i would weep for 3 years I cant see that EVER happening (crosing my fingers) unless something happens where he demands a trade like what Shea Hillenbrand did with the Jays. Guest newton
I'd love to see #11 in the rafters but as was said, there are many other candidates to receive this honor.. Carbo himself being one for sure. But I'm positive Captain K will bring the Cup home and that should become the final argument. He's led us through some pretty dark times and keeps shining even more as years go by.
Guest ChriS_HigGinS#1
not familiar with baseball...what happened there? The coach of the Jays was angry with Hillenbrand because he left the team for 3 days to go pick-up his adopted daughter from the agency. When Hillenbrand came back the coach didn't start him anymore. Hillenbrand took it personnally and next thing you know he demands a trade and went to san francisco.
Guest stevesaku
i really really think koivu should see his number in the rafters sometime in the future.stanley cups shouldnt be that decisive in deciding that.i think he is close to the record of longest serving captain is he not? Guest ChriS_HigGinS#1
I did some research and Jean Beliveau is the longest running captain. He was captain from 1961-1971 so 10 seasons. Sorry I didn't refresh...

Guest hogtownhabsfan
Koivu willed us to a victory. One of the premier captains in hockey. I agree, I hope he remains a Hab for his entire career, brings us a cup, and get his #11 retired.
Guest Hoser
I'm not so sure about that record but he's been captain since 1999. At the end of his contract he'll be the longest-serving captain in Canadiens history, and I bet you he re-signs.
