I think he looks good also. I'm not sure where these floating comments are coming from. Hes flying all over the ice. One play Kovy droped the puck back to a defenseman who fed Sammy in the slot. He got robed, but it was a good all around play. He also backs up the defense because he has so much speed. That should help Kovy out some.

Well that's a first.  Player gets bashed for scoring.

yeh no dount,,, keeps out unbeaten streack going(regulatoin) and gets chopped down.. he might not be playing the best but his goal he circle around and got open and scored and kovys goal last night he came from the icing line up andcut in and shot and scored... the difference of the 2 goals?..

lol come on people, if anyone was listening to RDS, Samsonov went to the dressing room for skate repairs with under 2 minutes left, Begin was put on the line in the mean time, he was not benched.

He made some nice plays last night, and he strips the puck from people like a champion, he doesnt even need to battle, seems as soon as he pokes at the puck, its his regardless who had it. The drop pass to Kovalev that left him practically open to shoot until Regher's stick came in and deflected Kovy's shot wide must have gone unoticed.

Seems no one notices anything unless A. a player scores or B.a player on the top 2 lines doesnt get a point.

He's doing alot of things right out there, he puts himself out of position for passes at times, but this has alot to do with the fact he isnt meshed in with his linemates yet, your impatience astounds me, Gainey openly said dont expect anything ridiculous from this guy until he gets atleast 2 months under his belt here, but the fans cant even give him 2 weeks, what a shame, then you wonder why Shanahan wanted no part of this city, why Elias rather stay in NJ for 7 more years, your like a pack of vultures flying around a wounded animal just waiting for the next mediocore performance to disect and devour.

I get so much heat from my co-workers because our fans are all over the media expressing disatisfaction with Latendresse, with Samsonov, with Ninimmaa, Souray, there mostly leaf fans and even they know, were not far away from having to draft our entire future, because we all know Free Agency wont be an option for this team sometime down the road, atleast for significant upgrades it wont.

I agree with you link_67. Give Samsonov a chance. He has a lot of skill. Once he gels with his line mates he will be on fire. I've seen him play and the only thing he is not doing is putting lots of points on the board. Such a great skater. This guy is amazing. Give him some time.

We might need to do some shuffling in the lines in the future (if there is no chemistry between Kovy, Placs and Sammy). Time will tell. Sammy does fit our style of play in MTL - fast, class act, great puck handler.

Did they switch Sammy and Perez in the third period or did I miss something?

I think that Carbo was sending Samsonov a message there in the third by playing Perezhogin in his spot with Kovalev and Plekanec...

I really think we need to somehow split up that second line without majorly affecting the chemistry of the other two. We were all thinking "imagine Kovalev and Samsonov on the same line", but I think we all had the wrong mindset. They are too similar. They are both trying to make the nice dekes and everything, and it looks impressive, but it isn't leading to enough goals.

I'm not sure what I'd do, but I would somehow split up Kovalev and Samsonov. THe problem being, Bonk and Johnson seem to be clicking; and the top line is good. I think least damage may be to try Ryder with Plekanek and Samsonov and put Kovalev on the top line. HIggins will probably fall apart offensively without Koivu, but I think Ryder will be able to perform with Plekanek.

Actually I haven't seen the last couple of games, so I can't really say how they "look", but statistically, we need more. And the games I did see, they looked ridiculously talented, but it wasn't leading anywhere. That line should be about a goal a night (Kovalev 35 + Samsonov 35 + Plekanek 12 doesn't seem too unreasonable).

I don't know guys.

I wasn't a fan of this signing from the very beginning since Samsonov seems to be less effective every year.

I just keep hoping he is going to do something to make me change my mind, but I'm not seeing it.

It's quite possible he was just shaking up the lines. I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that hes punishing Sammy for not playing well. Hes been skating pretty hard out there and has had some good chances to score. Perhaps Carbo feels that switching Sammy and Perez is worth a try. That puts two guys who can win battles along the boards with a skill guy on each line.

Its actually not a bad idea. Neither has been producing anything, maybe giveing them some new linemates (and also splitting Kovalev - Samsonov) could kick start Samsonov and Perezhogin. It was probably only temporary, but we'll see.

I'm not really in the mood to defend Samsonov, but I will.

Remember when Kovalev came here and everyone hated him well he adjusted? Well this is quite possibly the samething, Samsonov has put up numbers everywhere, and that's what matters.

Kovalev, imo is playing just as bad yet everyone is making excuses for him.

Too many mistakes & holding the puck too long. I'll hold off my judgement of him for another couple weeks. Hopefully he will come to life

Yeah so far I'm unimpressed too. But you're right let's hold off judgement for now. It's not like we've lost every game. Roy is right to point out Kovalev's adjustment period too.

Ya we need to give him time. But at ths ame time, I also think we need to try and get him the right fit on this team, and I don't think that is with Kovalev.

The way you put it makes it sound like he got off the ice, murdered your cat and went back on and scored.

All I can say to that is lol.

I've seen Samsonov skate hard and get good chances so far this season, but he keeps getting robbed. Sure, some (or maybe even most) of his passes aren't tape to tape yet, but come one, it's 2 weeks into the seaon. He's still adjusting. Give it a rest...

I agree with you, but he is a veteran and the adjustment time alloted is much less than that of a younger player.

I don't know how long until I can shake the bruins Bad taste out of my mouth about Samsonov. It just sort of feels like the enemy came over...

Usually Bruins players rarely get shipped to Montreal unless you count Nilan coming back and Patrick Traverse in a minor way... I'm sure there are a few more..
