25 Mathieu Dandenault 06-07

Could Carbo put Dandenault in as a fourth line player? He did it a couple of times last year, that would keep the streit-niinima duo on the ice and Carbo could put him as a d-men on PK, Murray and Downey bring some toughness to our lineup but Dandenault could provide more upside.

I would not make him play on the fourth line.

What I would do is dress up 7 dman, and give more ice-time to Kovalev, Ryder, Latendresse on the 4th line with plekanec and murray.

When facing a team known for its rough play. scratch one of the 7dman (streit or ninima) and play Downey on the forth line.

please, no. dandenault is so much better as a d-man than forward
The Niinimaa-Dandenault pairing was doing good before Dandy was hurt... I would suspect they will go back to that... although I would rather keep Streit in the line-up (personal preference) who has faired well despite playing on his off wing (which says something about his ability-IMHO)

Tsn says that he is ready to return to the lineup

Great news, he will add some needed speed and leadership to the 5-6 pairing... Which has been struggling to say the least...

He'll most likely end up with Streit this time, while Niinimaa sits.

Really nice to see Dandenault back and making an impact with his speed right off the bat. He played well as a forward in the 3rd on the PK, he's obviously got the speed for it.

He played a great game and almost scored a nice goal as a forward! If Streit plays well and Bouillon comes back. I'd love to see Dandenault as a forward. He's got the speed and vision for it. Scotty Bowman taught him well.

Great to see you back Dandy!!!

Well, we knew that could be an option when needed. However, i had no idea that Dandy was even close to being back in the lineup. I worked last nite ( so had to tape the game) and when i saw him i had to hit rewind to make sure my eyes were'nt playing tricks on me. Great to see him back, and seems like he's in good form.

He even had a shot on goal!  Anyone know if he will be back as defense tonight?

I don't know for a fact or anything but my gut feeling says he will be. I heard Carbo interviewed after say this wasn't anything permanent or anything. Wouldn't surprise me to see Niinimaa sit this one out.

Again, just speculating though.

Dandy has some bad luck too, maybe the Koivu is rubbing off on the team lol. Although he's not one of my favourite Habs he's had a pretty respectable effort this season (what we've gotten to see), he's been pretty solid out there.

Our D has been struggling the last few years, it's good to see someone like this come to the team and put forth his best efforts game after game.
