I guess it's the "now-or-never" season for him. I guess he has the skills and especially the attitude to make it and to perform like he did the othe night in the pre-season game. Important is that he gets a lot of icetime. He's a guy who is better when he logs over 20 mins a night. Will be interesting to watch him.

Well, I wasn't a Streit fan last season, but his play in the pre-season has been awesome. The staff got a good-long look at him, even playing him for 28 minutes in one game. It looks like he'll be our 3rd pairing defenseman.

This kid needs to play. Hopefully he hasnt lost his spot.

I don't think he lost his spot yet. By his spot I mean the 7th defencemen because thats what he was last year. Once Boullion gets back than Striet is in some trouble inless another player is injured at that point.

I think Striets biggest problem at this point is the addition of Ninnema will make it hard for Striet to get time on the PP, and its on the PP where Striet would have his best chance to show case his ability.

Lol, ok i watched this guy, at a training session this year, i have to admit, he was the only defense not to hit the net when practicing, With NO gaolie in there. He didnt hit the net in like 10 shots i thought it was funny. He has good vision on the ice. But he has to practice on his shot a bit..

Another guy who could use some work is Komi,

Funniest guy @ the practice defensive wise was souray, he was laying some hit on dandy :D Only guy laying any hits on the ice. Got me cheering :D

I'm not worried, he's on a One Way Contract, so he's in the NHL on the Habs.. or he's traded and he's got no trade value right now.

damn you canadiens for getting another D-man :D

Well you'll see Streit play on regular basis this year.. at least thats what I hope.

I love the canadiens because its a beauty of a city..

I love the canadiens because its a great team

I love the canadiens because they have 2 swiss players on the team.

I hate the canadiens because Aebi is not nr. 1

I hate the canadiens because Streit's spot is not for sure

Really looking forward to the new season and seeing two swiss guys play :D

montreal gazette says streit will be odd man out, because niinimaa will play with dandy

Wow... if I'd be Streit, I would be very pissed.... working out in summer, having a terrific preseason including the prove to put up numbers and play a huge bunch of minutes, and then be benched again. I would ask for a trade...

I understand BG very well that he wanted to get rid of Ribs, but for another D?!? It's not only Streit, in a few months we have Côté back as well, who is easily NHL caliber too.

People can say about Streit what they won't, but his talent and potential is to big to be benched all the time. I see another trade coming up, latest in february because we really have too much D's....

Well, maybe Janne continues to struggle so Streit will be used again... who knows.

We'll have 10 defensemen by November. So theres going to have to be a trade that most of us probably won't like and I don't think it will be Streit going.

Sourray better not be going, he is someone who will be missed by many

agree.

Back to Streit...I feel for him. I didn't care much about him last season, but I was impressed with him so far this season...when will he get a FAIR chance?

I like Ninimaa too, ..just saying.

At the rate at which players get injured in this day and age, Streit will get more than enough chances to prove himself. The Niinimaa move at this point is strictly a depth move. We get a veteran with loads of experience. How he'll perform offensively remains to be seen. He has however put up big numbers in the past.
